please don't click on it if it would offend you
www.gumtree.com/p/business-services/massage-and-shave-in-sutton-surrey/1019529156
in short:
The title is - Massage and Shave
then it goes on describing her procedure ....
Shaving, on the other hand, achieves a completely smooth result and is a pleasant and soothing procedure.

I've reported it to the Gumtree.

Can you explain your motivation for reporting OP?

pinkyredrose · 02/06/2013 14:53

OP you need to stop looking for hidden agendas in adverts. The phrase 'get a life' springs to mind.

squeakytoy · 02/06/2013 14:53

"I live in Sutton, so I guess that affects me in some way"

I live in Sutton too.. and am failing to see how someone offering their services as a masseuse in the privacy of their own home, no matter how many "extras" they do, affects me... Confused

squeakytoy · 02/06/2013 14:54

Well, not actually IN Sutton.. (thankfully) but thats who I pay my council tax to...

happyAvocado · 02/06/2013 14:56

honestly - if it was in another area I would report it to

I think I am in great minority on this thread
(I don't live in Sutton but pay my taxes to the borough, ad was in the Borough section)

sjuperyoni · 02/06/2013 14:57

Bit odd for an ad but doesn't come across as prostitutey to me.

squeakytoy · 02/06/2013 14:58

but WHY would you report it? what harm is it doing..

deedotty · 02/06/2013 14:59

A couple days ago, I saw a very good looking young man standing on a street corner with a slightly coquettish glint in his eye. Should I report him?

OR SHOULD I TRY AND MAKE A "TRIAL" BOOKING? Grin

wharrgarbl · 02/06/2013 14:59

I do't see what this advertisement has to do with the sensationalist claptrap/misery porn book you read. You have absolutely no proof whatsoever (or reason to think, really) that this woman was trafficked.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/06/2013 15:03

What about the one below it? "Naughty but nice; Massage for ladies in your own home" Have you reported that one as well? Hmm

As long as it isn't happening next door to you, why bother reporting at all?

IneedAsockamnesty · 02/06/2013 15:04

So why did you report it?

happyAvocado · 02/06/2013 15:06

well - if Gumtree thinks I am wrong, they won't remove her ad

it was interesting to see different reactions to what I've done

OP posts:
happyAvocado · 02/06/2013 15:07

LackaDAISYcal - should I report it?

I actually didn't read all of the ads in that section, just stopped at that one and clicked on it

OP posts:
IneedAsockamnesty · 02/06/2013 15:09

But why?

deedotty · 02/06/2013 15:15

Reading this thread, I feel inspired now. I'm going to prowl the streets of my "hood" with a magnifying glass and a camera and some binoculars.

I've noticed No. 23 has a man with a beard, he might be a terrorist.

I've noticed the chap at No. 46 has a dodgy look to him, might need to report him and stake his house out.

And at No. 78, there are some very pretty girls who wear short skirts and come home late at night, they must be on the game Shock

DETECTIVE DEEDOTTY CLEANS UP THE MEAN STREETS OF SUBURBIA.

happyAvocado · 02/06/2013 15:15

OP posts:
squeakytoy · 02/06/2013 15:16

why can you not answer the question. Why do you want to report it?

ihearsounds · 02/06/2013 15:16

Or what about the one offering 'French polishing' (bj)
Or the bloke that offers a full body massage, that's got to be a male prostitute.
Or the art of massage where she uses warm oils to lubricate your skin, for £50 plus extras. Just the name of the that one is a give away dicover Grin

You should report all of them and more op rather than just picking on one.

happyAvocado · 02/06/2013 15:28

ihearsounds - when I have more time I may ;)

then ask again the same question and this tread will grow much, much longer ...

and i will be asked even more deep questions which would try te extract my brain out and explain my unreasonable and completely disturbed subconscious mind

what a fun that would be....

ilovesooty · 02/06/2013 15:28

I'm with those who think you should mind your own business.

Perhaps you should have answered the ad to see if she sounded like a hooker. I expect you'd have been able to tell. Grin

deedotty · 02/06/2013 15:33

Thread whipround to sponsor the OP to GO IN AND INVESTIGATE? Grin

If the therapist turns out to be a lady of good reputation, at least you'll have a hairless fanjo.

happyAvocado · 02/06/2013 15:34

if I did - I would have missed such educational exchange with lovely mumsnetters :)

OP posts:
happyAvocado · 02/06/2013 15:37

unfortunately this ad is only for men :)

what a shame!

maybe I should have asked - do you think this ad is sexist and report it on those grounds Grin

OP posts:
CrowsLanding · 02/06/2013 15:42

Op is she a competitor? Is that why you have reported her ad, is she taking your custom? Grin

happyAvocado · 02/06/2013 15:45

yes, she must have stolen my customers, noone's replying to mine Grin
