On 10 o clock live now.
There aren't many women parliament because they would rather sit at home watching Topsy and Tim with their children.
Am I being unreasonable to want to puke?

That's an easy one then for her to solve - just pull the plug on T&T

Sunnywithshowers · 01/06/2013 00:13

YANBU.

She was hideous. Feminists are all badly dressed women who don't understand what Emily Davison stood for...

sicutlilium · 01/06/2013 00:21

For the first time ever, I was rooting for Laurie Penny.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/06/2013 00:27

Oh, god. I'm with sicut.

I really dislike Laurie Penny a lot of the time but I was definitely rooting for her. And screaming at the TV, a lot.

But then, what do I know? Smile I just haven't felt the flood of maternal hormones all of you lot have felt. All the mothers I know who claim not to feel like Epstein does, must be lying to me, to comfort me for my barren loins.

Oh, and my brother who hates leaving his baby DD and spent the first year practically welded to her side? He must have womanitis of the brain parts. Sad

yaimee · 01/06/2013 00:29

I felt like I was being trolled in real life.
I refuse to believe that she really believes this. She can't possibly can she?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/06/2013 00:33

She really can. Sad

People do.

HoHoHoNoYouDont · 01/06/2013 00:41

I find Laurie quite scary and aggressive tonight Confused

yaimee · 01/06/2013 00:44

Angela made me feel a bit aggressive too to be honest. I was shouting at the tv not unusual

I've only read Laurie's blog, so didn't have much to go on. I thought she was being unnecessary when she started arguing about why women don't vote. Sure, I agree it's annoying that there aren't good candidates to vote for, but when you argue against every single point your opponent makes, even if that basic point is a good one (in this case 'people should vote'), it makes you look incapable of distinguishing the main point. IMO.

But she was good other than that, I thought.

yaimee · 01/06/2013 00:58

I agree. I'm exactly the same as that too. I can't stick to one point, I can't keep my emotions in check and I can rarely be persuaded to budge. It's got me into trouble with friends and family in the past and I really need to sort it out.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/06/2013 00:59

Yes, that's charitable, it must be very difficult to keep on-topic in that situation!

yaimee · 01/06/2013 01:07

Although I don't make a career out of my opinions!

Sunnywithshowers · 01/06/2013 01:28

Arf at 'barren loins'. Mine too. That must have been what made me ragey.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 01/06/2013 01:36

No doubt. Grin
