Depends where. I am on My Fitness Pal and people do post pics of their bodies on there - but they are showing how much weight they have lost/fitter they have got etc and it is generally accepted that it's ok to do it. If anyone did it on Facebook, for example, I would think they were a bit of an idiot, but have never seen anyone do it on there. Or on MN!

I think I'm a parallel universe here - surely if you are an empowered woman, albeit fit, beautiful and so forth, it is your right to slap your picture up on the internet?

Beauty is in the eye of beholder - plenty of fat/feeder sites for the other end of the market to gawk at.

But of course, as ever, it is what you are comfortable with - I doubt the self conscious would be doing body image photos.

Well, most people would look at the photos and laugh at how vain and full of themselves the people who post them are - outrage might be a little unreasonable, but pity is certainly justified.

I agree if you are talking about certain 'celebrities' I totally agree. I also hate women in bikinis at sporting events, am watching UFC at the moment and every round a woman trots round the edge doing pouty kisses. I HATE IT!

I have a FB friend who posts loads of pictures of herself. She also refers to the "glory days of my childhood". She is 22

I don't have anything to do with FB. The more I hear the more put off I get.

Is it just their bodies or is it people who post pictures of themselves pouting in a 'Am I not utterly gorgeous' (errrrrrr, no!) way? Because if it's that - I get it. Never yet seen anyone look as divine as they clearly think they do.

I have teens who do this on fb but no adults.

The teens annoy me a bit but I mostly cringe for them then thank the stars that fb wasn't around when I was a teen.
