... to ask for reviews on Sleepytot baby comforter

My cousin, who lives in southern Europe, has just had her first born, a DS, and I would like to send her a small gift, something cute, not too expensive, and not too heavy.

I would prefer to avoid clothes, as the climate is different from the UK, so I thought of a cuddly toy that can hold dummies, in case she decides to give her baby a dummy. Something like:

Sleepytot

Has anybody used this, and what do you think about it? Any suggestions about other gift ideas?

The gift I loved most after my first born was a lovely bottle of wine and a box of chocolate. I appreciated all the gift I received but that is the one I remember most.

Never heard of it. We didn't use dummies though. Best thing we ever bought was a Slumber bear. Other than that friends bought us food, it was great.

They are amazing, means baby can find dummies by themselves in the night (from about 3+months) and they don't get thrown out of the cot. Totally worked for us. DD adores it

Thanks for the suggestions. I should have made it clear that I need to post the gift, so no food or wine is, unfortunately, possible. Any clever/unusual gifts that would be good for a new mum to receive?

Sleepytot is a great gift!!

My advice is get something for the mum, it shows you are thinking of her.

The dummy things looks fine though

Some people are really anti-dummy so I wouldn't buy that.

These are great and you can use from birth.

Even if a dummy isn't used, then teething ring would probably fit on it.

I have one it's ok he prefers a different comforter as I find he plays with it too much.

But overall good idea a unusual gift but check she might use a dummy first.

My DS didn't take a dummy so would have been no good for us. Another vote here for slumber bear - fantastic and can be used from birth. The other thing I have given as a present and had great feedback on is wooden bunting with the baby's name on - bit different from the usual clothes etc and lasts longer.

We have sleepytot despite no dummy. Ds can hardly be parted from it. Ears great for sucking!

Sleepytot = amazing. If she uses it with dummies then she'll be able to wean off the dummies gently and retain the sleepytot. It's great. I converted all my NCT group to them, even the ones who didn't use dummies!

Ds must be the only one who hated his!

Didn't like the dummies and toy so close to his face and got very angry trying to pull them off... and without the dummies he's not interested in the toy at all! Literally just ignores it! So no good here. But I suspect I just have an awkward dc !

My baby LOVES his "sleepy bunny". Very sweet even if your friend doesn't use dummies IMHO

Dd loves her sleepytot, even to play with not just for the dummies. It's a nice gift. I would also suggest some muslins though, v light and cheap to post but very essential and can be quite expensive for something you seem to need an endless supply of!
