Was just wondering as I am 29 and a mother of two young children and I'm not a huge fan of clothes shopping and am by no means a fashion icon!!! But was wondering where you shop and how old you were as the shops I seem to like seem to be popular with people older than me which is giving me a complex!!! Not helped by my dh saying some of my clothes are hideous!!

27 and for me it's:

Mango
Zara (but have to pick carefully, some stuff is utter crap in quality)
House of Fraser
Karen Millen
Reiss
EBay - often for the last two

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 19/05/2013 22:54

Today was top shop, white stuff and fat face... The two latter are less well represented though usually.
Fair bit of h&m, top shop, yumi, odd things from Cath K, intermittent from primark.

I go in Zara once in a while thinking I'll find the stuff everyone says is good, and just find peculiar jeans really.

BarredfromhavingStella · 19/05/2013 22:57

I'm 34 & I'll shop wherever I see something I like & it's not ridiculously priced-don't do Pimark though as fuck all fits & the stuff washes like shit...

Ullena · 19/05/2013 22:57

I'm 32, size 14/16.

I buy most of my everyday sort of clothes in Debenhams, M&S, and Tesco. I also occasionally shop online from Joe Brown or Kate's Clothing. And local charity shops are always worth checking too.

QuintessentialOldDear · 19/05/2013 22:57

I am 41. (2 kids)

Tommy Hilfiger
Next
Whistles
Gap
Jigsaw
M&S for basics
LK Bennet
Monsoon

Independent local boutiques, stuff like Jami, Masai, Beck Sondergaard, One Season Clothing etc

BarredfromhavingStella · 19/05/2013 22:58

Pmsl-Primark not Pimark obviously.

bluesbaby · 19/05/2013 23:04

I shop around online a lot
Lots of random, independent shops and brands.

I like Asos and Boohoo online a lot. I like Levis but obv very expensive. I like New Look for some stuff. Their shoes are pretty good value for the quality, last ages. DP is sometimes good. Very occassionally H&M and Primark - very picky with their clothes though. They fall apart quickly. TopShop quality is abysmal. I've stopped shopping there totally. Next & M&S are very frumpy generally.

For my sports stuff I tend to go Nike, Superdry (the tshirts are great for the gym), and Salomon.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 19/05/2013 23:07

Thinking about it, h&m is where I go when I can't be arsed thinking, cos you know there will be a black cardigan or whatever. Though I have one or tw things from there I actually really like too.

I feel I should be spending more and getting better stuff now, but when I look at the next level up it seems about three levels of mumsiness up, and I don't know where to shop any more!

Staples are Dorothy P, Monsoon, M&S, Phase Eight, Oliver Bonas, Uniqlo, Gap. I also love the dresses from www.feverdesigns.co.uk/categories/dresses-and-tunics but can't buy any at the moment as I'm six months pg!

bonbonpixie · 19/05/2013 23:17

I'm laughing because not so long ago whist feeding DD some tomatoey fishy curry, surely the worst food combination ever if it hits you, DH and I actually wore PAC-A-MACs we'd picked up at Disney Land years ago. DD ascribes to the eat-one throw-one school of eating meals. She has surprisingly good aim too. We must look like nutters - two adults wrapped in plastic with mouse ears on the hoods........ I should stop giving her 'wet' foods. I never learn Smile

freddiefrog · 19/05/2013 23:24

I'm 37 and shop everywhere and anywhere.

Currently my wardrobe has stuff from

H&M
Dotty P
New Look
TK Maxx
Animal
All Saints
Matalan
River Island
Miss Selfridge
Zara
Gap
Primark
Fat Face
Crew
Henri Lloyd
French Connection
Top Shop

I don't think age should dictate what you wear and where you buy your clothes from. I like clothes and fashion and don't want to feel like I should stop wearing things hot pants excepted just because I'm heading for 40

NotYouNaanBread · 20/05/2013 07:22
