DH shouting out of window at dog owner

Last night my DH was drawing the curtains when he spotted a dog owner at the top of our driveway allowing their dog to wee on it.

DH who is usually rather reserved, opened he bedroom window and loudly called out to the dog owner "Excuse me, excuse me! What do you think you are doing allowing your dog to pee on my driveway?"

The owner shouted back "what do you want me to say?" to which my DH said "don't let it happen again!" It was all terribly polite but I was horrified. DH did not swear or have any aggression in his voice.

He doesn't see a problem and likened it to him peeing on her driveway! To my mind, I don't think it's that bad, it wasn't poo and it's raining today so the wee will have just washed away.

He's just asked me if I looked out of window at the same time tonight to check if I saw the dog walker let the dog do it again.

AIBU unreasonable to think it was an overreaction last night and it was just wee? We don't have pets so I don't know how difficult it is not to get a dog mark where they want to.

Its a bit of dog wee.... mixing in with all the wee of any other creature that potters around your garden at any given time..

Your husband sounds rather potty.

Sorry but this made me laugh. Don't really know how you could stop a dog weeing on a driveway?! YANBU your DH was overreacting.

Blimey. Does he expect dog walkers to carry little bottles of dettol to clean up driveway and pavement wee?

He's chuckling at these responses. I think he knows it was a bit odd. I'm cringing incase the dog owner walks past whilst I'm getting out of the car or gardening.

It was a very odd scene.

at the dettol comment. There is a grass verge directly opposite our driveway which he keeps pointing out the dog should have used.

maybe you should put little trays outside your house and dog owners should hold them under their dogs until they are safely past incase a bit of wee escapes...

Maybe post where you live? ... so all dog owners can encourage their dogs to pee in unison at the designated time just as a show of support?? :)

Oh no choco the wee is acceptable on the pavement, it's just on our property that it's an issue.

Totally irrelevant to the thread but...

You've just reminded me. Two foxes were making an awful noise outside our window at 4am and DH ran downstairs, opened the front door and shouted, "Go on, get off home with ya!!".

Home ffs? They were two foxes just having a shag lol

Before we had dogs, DH knocked on our living room window and started remonstrating with a guy who was picking up his dog's poo off our front lawn. Apparently he shouldn't have let the dog go on our grass even if he was going to pick it up.

the thing is, where one dog has had a wee, they all wee, that dog wasn't the first , and certainly will not be the last, it will only be a dog with no nose that will be able to pass without having a wee.

Your DH has to either let it go, or move (Iceland has limited on dogs).

yeah it's a bit of tough lick, tge dog goes where tgey want to, it's marking and scenting, theres not really anyway you can stop it, just like someone said about other creatures going, how about cats? you find their poop in the flowerbeds, dont tell your dh this else he might take to.inspecting the perimeter

My DH gets arsey about a chap who lets his dog wee on our garden but takes out our dog and lets it wee ......

Don't get me started on the cats. They poo on our lawn and it drives us potty. I shout at cats in our rear garden.

Even our toddler has started shouting at them . We're made for each other. The mad pet free family.

Ideally not I suppose but it is level with and adjacent to the pavement and the dog was only just on the grass by a couple of inches. The dog wasn't wandering all over it.

Someone let their dog poo on our drive right by the car door. Didnt pick it up. Just saw it in time managed not to step in it, my son said it looked like I was doing one of those ninja moves.

I got pissed off with a woman who let her dog piss like a racehorse wee on our path just as my kids in their brand new, Xmas present from Oz, real Uggs, were about to walk up it.

I may have shouted at the ignorant woman who stood there with her big dog allowing it on a long lead to bark and generally terrorise next doors poor wee cat then lay a huge cable in their front garden. She did pick it up, eventually. Neighbours have recently spent a lot of money getting their front garden done and new chips down, even though it was picked up there must have been bits of shit left behind.

I like dogs but some owners are a bit hard of thinking.

hope you dont live near me aderynlas it could of been my dog he has a shit while walking without stopping it just falls out the back of his arse.i have to practically walk sideways and watch so i can pick it up or i wouldnt know.
