ds has a virus, hayfever and conjunctivitis he has done nothing but cry and complain all day. he has to have eye drops. he is currently screaming and sobbing point blank refusing to let me near. how the hell am I going to pull this off?

I would lure him to lie with his head on your lap, grasp him in a vice like grip and squirt them in the general direction. But I am quite evil. OTOH you could wait til he's asleep and sqirt a drop in the corner of each eye? Would that work? How old is he? Is bribery an option?

Do you have anyone else to help you?

If he's very young, it might just be a matter of holding them down and doing it as quickly as possible.

I had an operation on my mouth mid week and he's thrashing about if he bangs into my face ill be howling. my dad just came in his fifteen minute break but it just ended up all over his eyelid. won't see anyone else till tomorrow morning. might have to try the asleep thing. I feel like hellSad

Wrap him in a towel, lay him on his back with his head between your knees and very quickly put the drops in.

Disclaimer - first time mother whose DH is frequently away, this is what works for use.

it would be easier if they were like drops but it is like white goop really so doesnt really drop willing to give anything a go

this is what I would do at 5 id use a blanket or something wrap him up and drop them in thing is if he closes his eyes it goes everywhere,

chocoluvva · 29/04/2013 20:18

Could he try putting them in himself?

likesnowflakesinanocean · 29/04/2013 20:55
