Just the use of the word Absolutely really.

Seems to be a "meh" sort of word people seem to use to sit on the fence and the general over use of it to just agree with everything someone says without making actual comment.

Makes me itchy....

I've never noticed it, and I do tend to notice that kind of thing. If I start hearing it everywhere I will hold you responsible :)

Trill · 26/04/2013 11:36

Are you being unreasonable? Absolutely.

LittleMissGerardButlerfan · 26/04/2013 11:36

Absolutely Wink

Walked into that one didn't I??

WilsonFrickett · 26/04/2013 11:40

You did walk into that. Absolutely.

DeWe · 26/04/2013 12:45

Probably.

That's what dh uses. What he means is "that is exceedingly likely but there is a small chance it isn't therefore I won't agree totally." If he says "absolutely" he is 100% sure. Yes he's a pedant. Grin

You should watch 2012 again, if you haven't seen it already. Absolutely.

One of my (many) faults, I do that a lot, and have passed it on to DD2.

Worse than that though is that I'll sometimes split it for more emphasis, i.e Absofuc^inglutely

One of our feral farm cats is called Absolutely,

He got the name when a visitor asked me one day what his name was,

I started to say, "Absolutely no idea" as we don't name them, all I got out was "Absolutely....",

and the chap turned to his family who were on the other side of the yard and shouted, "Come and look at this cat, it's called Absolutely",

I just disappeared into a barn and killed myself laughing.

He's a great ratter.

MrsMacFarlane · 26/04/2013 16:12

^^ I love that story.

GetOrfMoiLand · 26/04/2013 16:15

I love Absolutely the cat, and 'he's a great ratter'

Luckyxstar · 26/04/2013 17:55
