There is a lot of dross on there though. Fucking waterfall cardigans and BLOUSES.

I agree that they are like Matalan only overpriced. It's the polyester that gets me, floaty cheap-looking garish polyester tops, must cost pennies to manufacture.

I had a lovely per una handbag a few of years ago. That's about it though!

PEr Una is mind blowingly awful, the bra departmentis convinced 80% of women are 36C andonly want moulded cups. Nightwear department thinks women want puppies and cats on their tits all night.

To be fair I did get DD a fabulous boy's suit in the posh kids range for a reasonable pice and excellent quality - I would have been pushed to make it myself, so bought it happily. DD loves it as boy's jackets have pockets!

The young girl's stuff is vile: "my little slapper" it should be called. So tarty it is embarassing - for an 8 year old? Really? The material in the girls clothes is noticeably worse quality than the boy's clothes - especially sports wear. Chilren's shoes seemed desigend to make lots of work for podiatrists and osteopaths - but then so do the women's shoes.

Fuck you! I don't live in Wolverhampton!

And everyone knows you live in the rough bit of Chelters Wink

My little slapper! Great name

I remember all the sensible clothes my mum used to buy me from m and s when I was about 8 or 9. I hated them, I would have loved My little Slapper Stuff

YABU. Per Una is fine, there's nothing wrong with it.

I liked per una before I had dd. That was in 2003. She didn't sleep for years so I didn't go shopping really for years either. Now it's all tawdry rubbish :(

Oh ladies you echo all my thoughts. Per una used to be funky, now it is frankly frumpy. Young girls clothes are quite nice but once they turn 7/8 OMG...they are hideous. I find their big stores overwhelming, too much stuff. Quality is going downhill. Food is still good but John Lewis is superior in every way. Love their girls range & lover their staff. You only find staff on the tills at Marks.

This is rather eye-watering

slapper dress. Poor girl who had to model it. My dd age 7 would love that dress < despairs>

And this is frankly alarming

It went downhill when they stopped using UK manufacturers such as Dewhirsts and started importing cheap tat.

Report
JacqueslePeacock · 25/04/2013 12:26

Crikey, that girls' dress is definitely My Little Slapper.

JacqueslePeacock · 25/04/2013 12:27

But the design isn't done abroad, is it? I mean, the manufacturing might be poor, but we can't blame the actual hideousness on developing country factories, can we?

Wow that last one was something else...wtf wears these things? That top should be up for breach of the peace...

Do they actually employ designers?or is it like just chuck anything in and see what happens

JacqueslePeacock · 25/04/2013 12:31

Why in hell's name would you want two layers of this monstrousness?

Report
ouryve · 25/04/2013 12:36

That skirt! £45 for something in garish fabric that will seat as soon as you sit down in it.

They have got it so wrong and the different in-house brands all seem to merge into oneness - well apart from Per Una which is such a no-no and yet it is in a prime position in our local store!

Ooh that paisley mock layer thing is two layers of fugly. "Nights out in style" indeed. No redeeming features WHATEVER (unless you count lack of ruffles and sequins).

How is that dress my little slapper? I thought I was gonna see something from my big fat gypsy wedding but that's just a pink dress. Really, if you saw a little girl wearing that dress you'd think slapper? Really?
