For instance:
A) Are George and Richard Rabbit G&T? They've just set up Dinosaur World in George and Peppa's bedroom, with an upturned laundry basket as a volcano, a forest of toy trees and a river made of blue building blocks. They're not like any 18 month old I've ever seen!

B) Do you have no choice but to marry the only available instance of the other gender of your species in existence? How did Mrs Rabbit and Miss Rabbit decide who got to marry Mr Rabbit?

C) Why did Daddy and Mummy Pig call George George when it so definitely doesn't start with P? Did she not get shot down on a Baby Names thread for that one?

Bing bong bingly bong boo!

JohnSnowsTie · 24/04/2013 17:26

I saw Mr Bull's wife for the first time yesterday and wondered "Is she Mrs Bull, or Mrs Cow?" Because she's not a bull. She's a cow.

My personal favourite bit of PP is when it is announced in a dodgy austrian accent that Madame Gazelle used to be in a band called the 'Rocking Gazelles' but rocking comes out sounding like......you guessed it, the fooking gazelles.

Thankfully DD (2) has no idea why her big brothers are crying laughing.

MamaPizza · 24/04/2013 17:42

George's name on the German Peppa Pig is Schorsch Grin

member · 24/04/2013 17:53

My dds are 8.5 & 12 so have outgrown Peppa. It used to drive me to distraction when the same episodes were watched again & again but I miss it now Sad I used to do Mdme Gazelle's voice when reading the books at bedtime and particularly revelled in doing the long Ooooo before launching into the Bing Bong song

Has Mdme Gazelle's leaving party been televised or is it DVD only???

Catmint · 24/04/2013 18:25

HELLOOOOOOOO!!! ( grandpa pig answering the phone).

OhHullitsOnlyMeYoni · 24/04/2013 18:30

In the episode when Peppa returns from holiday to discover her fish has turned into a basketball, she blames Grandpa pig "what have you DONE to Goldie?!" yet clearly when they leave for the holiday she tells Grandma Pig not to over feed the fish and to look after her... Do we think Mummy Pig found a scapegoat like her mummy did?

RubyrooUK · 24/04/2013 18:38

SilveryPussycat - I recently caught my mum and stepdad (both 65) arguing over which PP episode was the best. Their two year old grandson - my DS - had actually left the room and was busy helping me cook. They were oblivious.

My personal favourite episode is the one where they take Goldie to the vet and Mr Bull tried to talk to Goldie on the bus and peppe tells him

She can't talk. She's a fish.

Also really like grandpa rabbit's song about the Ssssseeeeaaa... And the Skkkkkyyyyyyyy

PanpiperAtTheGatesOfYawn · 24/04/2013 19:10

wilting my DH and I sing that song to each other when we're out walking/driving/surfing. It's brilliant.

Woke up ONE MORNING
The sea was still there.
And so was the sky.
THE SEA THE SKY THE SEA THE SKY

It's epic and I can't wait to embarrass my DD with it when she's older. Right now she joins in Grin

WingDefence · 24/04/2013 19:21

wilting and Pan, I sent this to a poster upthread who mentioned Grampy Pig's song. I dared my singer songwriter friend to write a proper song from 'The sea, the sky' and he did!

It's Grin

YouDontWinFriendsWithSalad · 24/04/2013 19:29

WingDefence that's amazing!

manchestermummy · 24/04/2013 19:32

I would like to know which library management system is in use that generates a cross face when a book is returned late. It would be a market leader in higher education.

Kerfuffled · 24/04/2013 19:39

I think we should ask Mumsnet HQ for a Q & A with the writers/producers of Peppa Pig so we can finally have our questions answered. It's a far more important issue than some of the other topics raised in Q & As.

WingDefence · 24/04/2013 20:06

Great idea Kerfuffled. I was wondering whether they find out about the thread anyway and sign up to MN just post some answers Grin

fruitstick · 24/04/2013 20:06

Remember this? daily mail warning

eccentrica · 24/04/2013 20:16

Miss Rabbit is the hardest working person in the country, I refer you to the terrible monarchist tract 'Peppa Pig Meets the Queen' in which she won an award for it.

fruitstick · 24/04/2013 20:29

That was the Jubilee special though so I think it's allowed.

That was the only part of the jubilee celebrations I actually went out of my way to watch Grin

Bobyan · 24/04/2013 20:36

That Daily Mail article is the reason why my Dc's have been forced to watch Peppa every single day. If the Daily Mail doesn't approve it must be good Grin.

I wonder what paper Daddy pig reads?

eagerbeagle · 24/04/2013 20:53

DH thinks PP portrays Daddy Pig as a bit of a twat and that he unfairly gets sent up.

Mostly true apart from the episode where we discover he's a world champion puddle jumper.

"Daddy pig is at one with the puddle"

OhHullitsOnlyMeYoni · 24/04/2013 21:35

A friend of mine won't let her DC watch it because she thinks Daddy Pig gets unfairly ridiculed. I pointed out he is a champion diver, architect, fixes Mr Dinosaur, can do ballet, is a genius drum player, runs marathons, can cycle his daughters bike to work, is a fantastic artist and can play the acordian. I'm sure there are plenty of other things too. I just think he has a good sense of humour and knows how to keep the peace!

AlexReidsLonelyBraincell · 24/04/2013 22:21

Has anybody noticed that the Fairy Mayor on Ben and Holly is clearly modelled on Boris? Crazy white blonde hair and all.

AlexReidsLonelyBraincell · 24/04/2013 22:22

I would like to have a read of Ezza magazine that every female character seems to read.

Suzieismyname · 24/04/2013 22:23

Doesn't Daddy Pig calculate load bearing tangents at work?
