AIBU to expect a little feedback/guidance as to whether twins doing okay

have five year old twins who are currently in year one at school, (6th birthday in June) my daughter is on gold level 9 reading books and my son is on level 7 turquoise, just don't seem to get much feedback from school as to whether they are doing okay, at last parents evening my daughters teacher said she needs to put more expression in her reading so we have been working on that but really just want to know whats expected of them at this age

Just go and talk to the teacher and ask.

I always take it that the least said the better.

They'll come to you if they're having a problem, otherwise presume they're doing alright.

But like Littlefish said, if you want more specifics just ask.

I always found parents evening a bit generic, but you're not going to get a whole character/academic assessment in the 15 mins you have.
