To complain to Planning Dept about neighbour's 6 feet high skateboard ramp? (Sorry bit long, but need some impetus to keep fighting)

Two years ago my next-door neighbours built a skateboard ramp which overlooks my garden. The ramp is used by my neighbour and his friends (average age 35?) I wouldn't mind so much if it was being used by teenagers, but am very uncomfortable being in my garden and being overlooked from a height of 10 feet+ by my neighbour and his mates.
Local planning dept has told them to remove it, but I know he is re-building it to a height of 4 feet and will apply for retrospectaive planning.
I previously got on well with his partner (despite him telling her to 'get in the house and not talk to me') and he has upset and intimidated another single woman who lives in my road. I also had to call the police when he was shouting at me and being abusive for not shutting our gate, which is shared.
I have worked so hard to provide a home for me and Dd for the past 10 years and am gutted that I am now having to consider selling my house just to be rid of his nastiness.

Such a shame when you have a bad neighbour! I've been there!

mumtolilh single mum, so no partner. And also shouldn't have to rely on a partner to sort my problems. Am hoping that his knees give out before mine

DH wants to come round, he would love a go, I think you have just inspired him, we have the world largest skateboard collection mostly stored at the bottom of the stairs in an adult side stack.

Maybe he will have an accident on his silly ramp & think twice about it lol

Maybe talk to your local mp about what you can do?

I would hate somebody looking over my private space :(

What a cockish and twatty thing to build in a back garden. It must be horrible for you, OP. some people just have no consideration or thought for others at all.

What a total idiot. You have my complete and utter sympathy. I advocate what a previous poster said: spray wd40 over the fence after nightfall.

My DS (11) is really into skateboarding, which is why I read the thread as I thought it would be about children.

It always surprises me how many single men are at the local skatepark.

This is what you want. Mythbusters used it and it is the slipperiest thing they could find.

I think if he's concreting it, then it definately needs planning. Also, it needs to blunder a certain height as well. You can also get him done noise pollution. Does the new height mean he can still see over into your property? Remind, that they'll be trying to jump up with boards at either end. If so, ring the planning office again so hopefully be told to rip it down nice and for all

Whether we like it or not it is true that some blokes like this neighbour do sometimes take a different approach if a man deals with it.

I would use them having it to my full advantage, just think you can watch from your window whilst they prats of themselves from great heights and if they take a tumble it would make brilliant viewing with a cocktail with your feet up on a nice summers day

Exactly! Some men actually don't like women saying anything to them...unfortunately it's just the way some are!
She's single anyway so cannot be done but was just saying what I would do :)
