to ask what you do when you feel like gettin gout of town. when things get to much?

im feeling stressed down and basically like just walking away from everything.

i looked online to see how much trains would be to great yarmouth and how much the cheapest hotels for one night would be. £64 for the lot, not counting spending money.. which for an adult and two children isnt bad but not something i have.

a night out just me and my friend swoudl do but i have no babysitter so i thought get away with the kids but alas nope.
i just need to recharge so what do you guys do?

I'd do that, go to Scarborough or something and just ignore real life for a few days!

Lueji · 12/04/2013 17:10

Go for a big walk. :)

Softlysoftly · 12/04/2013 17:11

I actually haven't but think your plan of a change of scenery sounds fab and I'm going to steal it!

maddening · 12/04/2013 18:17

Camping? If you already have a tent etc then it can be cheap

TigOldBitties · 12/04/2013 18:20

I just get in the car and drive until I see a sign for somewhere I think sounds good. Sometimes we take stuff and find somewhere to stay overnight sometimes we come home the same day.

I would not go to Gy (dog shit and candy floss). Sorry, not much help but I worked in GY for years.

Is there anywhere closer? But no, you are NBU to want to fuck off and do something different.

thermalsinapril · 12/04/2013 18:30

Youth hostel?

wonderingsoul · 12/04/2013 18:41

gy is the nearest beach to me.. even if its just stones. it has the peir, late night arcades which th ekids would love, sea life centre so is okish for the kids and is out of town for me.

in an ideal world itd be for more then one night, but looking at my budgit i could possable do a one night a day next sat, doesnt help me now, i just want to get away from it all. i dont and cant drive so though i would do that i cant.

we do have a tent though, this is an idea i shall look into.

youth hostel.. never thought of it before, i will google and see, with out meaning to sound dumb but are they child friendly?

If you have a garden could you have a campfire?

An evening round a campfire does the trick for me.

Doinmummy · 12/04/2013 18:46

Where are you Op? I'll babysit. You can have a night out and I won't have to listen to my lodger shagging!, Win win .

soontobeslendergirl · 12/04/2013 18:49

Camp out in your living room - get cushions or blow up beds if you have them or drag the mattresses through, have candles and torches and stories and make some campy type food and pretend you are anywhere in the world - costs you nothing :)

wonderingsoul · 12/04/2013 18:52

we live in two bed flat with a small shared garden which has laundry drying poles so prob not be able to have a campfire.

doinmummy-- thats unbeliable kind and touching. may have got abit emotional and welled at the thought of a stranger offering to babysit for me. Blush though you could allways keep score and scream bingo with your flatmates activitys lol.

soontobe-- we do this alot, which is the reason i got the tent, to make it more fun for the kids. allthough loads of fun not the sort of thing im needing right now.

Grin at shagging bingo. I'm serious about sitting for you though . I was a single parent with no babysitters and understand the frustration at not being able to have a night out once in a while .

wonderingsoul · 13/04/2013 08:47
