AIBU?
To not like alcohol.
Kasterborous · 12/04/2013 16:30
I don't like the taste of any alcohol, therefore I don't drink any. It's not for religious or health reasons I just dislike it all. I would rather have a . My family always despaired of me! They all like a big glass of
. I always remember my Grandpa trying to get me to drink his beer, and not liking it at all.

YANBU at all
You're better off without it. Personally, I'm quite a big fan of alcohol but I go through periods where I don't drink any for a few weeks and my head and skin are so much clearer. And my wallet is fatter!
We do have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with alcohol in this country. Lots of people think you can't possibly be having a good time if you're not necking loads of booze. Ignore them
squeakytoy · 12/04/2013 16:33
Your choice of course, but I think its a bit of a generalisation to say you dont like any alcohol. Wine tastes nothing like beer, which tastes nothing like cider, which tastes nothing like baileys etc..
I dont like wine, and I cant stand the taste of certain spirits, but I do like the taste of some alcoholic drinks..
I would find it frustrating to hear someone say they dont like "any" alcohol.

I don't like it either. I am an obsessive tea-drinker - that and sparkly water that I clink in an ice-filled glass so people think it's gin!
Have just come back from France and literally had to dodge open bottles of vinegar wine flowing in all directions.
TeamJavert · 12/04/2013 16:37
Why is it frustrating to say that people don't like the taste of any alcohol,Squeaky? I really don't like any of it,though will occasionally put a small amount of wine in a stew or casserole.
No matter what it's paired with,or if it's in the form of beer, wine or spirits I can still taste the ethanol in it,and that's what I hate.

Of course you're not being unreasonable to not like it. Different people like different things.
Some people don't like fish, or olives, or chocolate, or cheese.
As bizarre as it may seem to me that someone might not like cheese, some people don't. There's no question of reasonableness.

I agree Kasterborous.
I have tried loads of different to me it all tastes harsh for want of a better word.
I happy to be the driver. But I hate when people I'm with seem to think it wrong that I don't want to drink. I also don't like to drink that much of an evening so I may only have one drink, two at the most.
