To want to smash my telly up during ad breaks on Nick Jr?

DS likes Peppa Pig and Ben & Holly, (DH & I do too Blush ) so I put Nick Jr on at times throughout the day. Apart from Dora The Explorer (AAAGH) I don't have a problem with the programmes, just the sodding adverts!! The ones I find particularly bile-inducing are the ones advertising naff plastic toot toys for little girls that have the nauseating women singing shite over the top of it all! You know the ones, the ads for Barbies (that all do the same thing, hair changes colour but they market them in different outfits to make it look like they're different dolls), etc. Especially La La Loopsies ads. (They're freaky, they all look like Coraline anyway, and that sodding colour change mermaid. KILL IT WITH FIRE).

I hate Barbie adverts. They make me want to go out and personally hunt down every single Barbie in the world, pull of her stupid clothes, bleach her hair and scribble on its face. Like dd3 did when she was little (she now eight though).

skratta · 10/04/2013 01:29

Should add, she didn't bleach the hair, just coloured it white!

saulaboutme · 10/04/2013 01:42

Hate ads full stop! Especially on the Nick channels.
Who ever is watching it is on "mute duty" for the ads. If I keep hearing them it goes off so they are very good at it.
A woman I used to babysit for used to say ads were poison to childrens minds, and I thought " what a mad bitch"
Turns out she was f ing right!!

KatytheCleaningLady - Yes, I've seen Poopsy Pets. Classic. Pooping little gems or whatever it is. Even the DC are Hmm about them. I somehow don't see that one making the must have toys for Christmas list. Grin

Skratta, can I help? Bloody Barbie!
Not Poopsy pets, but has anyone seen that bloody toy dacshund that does a crap? WTF is all that about??? Shock

Is Lelli Kelly American? I'd never even heard of it until it was mentioned on MN.

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 10/04/2013 03:57

I tend to want to smash my TV up any time Nick Jr is on...

In my defence, after 10 years of it, over DS1, DS2, and now DS3, it's hardly surprising, is it?!

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 10/04/2013 03:59

There is one advert for some sort of doll with a pet unicorn that actually shits rainbows. I kid you not.

I'm so glad my DD is 15...

She still wants one of those fecking Yuu bags though. Confused

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 10/04/2013 04:02

That's it, those Poopsy pets. It SHITS RAINBOWS.

CouthySaysEatChoccyEggs · 10/04/2013 04:04

Be thankful that the Hannah FUCKING Montana craze is over. DD was just the 'right' age for that one. One day I will hunt that overblown Barbie down and tie her to a chair and force her to listen to her own whiny fucking voice for 2 years solid like I had to...

Panzee · 10/04/2013 04:34

Agh, Stompeez. My mum bought my 3 year old a pair. He keeps trying to jump down the stairs in them. "But the advert says I can..."

I see they have changed the name of the One Eyed Monster ones though :o

AlexReidsLonelyBraincell · 10/04/2013 05:32

Think Lelli Kelly may be Italian, they are pricey and hideous but I've got to say they are beautifully made, last forever and can go in the washing machine and come out good as new.
Dc1 gets a pair of sparkly plimsolls every summer, I was hesitant at first but they are worth the money, and she loves sparkly tat. The make up free gift usually 'disappears' after a day or so though. :)

DuttyWine · 10/04/2013 08:29

Oh lelli kelli makes beautiful shoes, oh yeah! Grin

I agree they are worth the money and feel a little bit sad dd has grown out of them.

Airwalk79 · 10/04/2013 08:49

We've just caved and ordered a inkoo! It's dds birthday soon and that's the only thing she really wants.
Has anyone got one? they appear to be like rocking horse shit, just hope it's not shit!
I hate adverts, generally if she goes on about wanting what's on them I say that she will have to just watch cbeebies where there is none, that stops it for a while!
