Anyone else find him mildly offensive and hugely irritating for no apparent reason? Get that patronising 'feel'?

OP posts:
TheUnsinkableTitanic · 06/04/2013 00:10

nah

AgentZigzag · 06/04/2013 00:13

I can't watch enough of him because I can never get why other people find him so offensive.

SneezingwakestheJesus · 06/04/2013 00:14

I lurve him. Ever since the David Blaine interview.

DioneTheDiabolist · 06/04/2013 00:14

I think he's hilarious.

floatyflo · 06/04/2013 00:15

Yup. I always feel for his wife/partner on this morning.

He can be so rude to her sometimes but its always sly and underhand.

And you just see her cringing at the things he comes out with sometimes

tethersend · 06/04/2013 00:16

I disagree.

I think he is a massive, massive cunt.

Somethingtothinkabout · 06/04/2013 00:20

I always get a really uncomfortable feeling about him. I suspect he is not a nice guy in real life.

Did he not say something on tv that was really offensive a few years ago?

I remember my righteous indignation about it and how it proved he was a git, but can't remember what it was.

jinsymaw · 06/04/2013 00:21

I think, that's part of his brusque charm, that he takes the mickey out of everyone including, wifey,Judith. Though you know he thinks the world of her. Give me Down to earth Eamon, over the rest of the toothy white smoothies. But to each his own.

WorraLiberty · 06/04/2013 00:21

Can't have been that bad then Something Grin

I take him or leave him

WorraLiberty · 06/04/2013 00:22

Isn't his wife called Ruth?

crushedintherush · 06/04/2013 00:22

floatyflo-reminds me of why I wouldn't work with my dhSmile

Not that he's anything LIKE Eamonn Holmes, but imagine the arguments when you both got home.....Grin

No comment on Eamonn, Only seen snippets of the programme, and the bickering, so wouldn't be fair to comment.

AndFanjoWasHisNameO · 06/04/2013 00:27

Was it when it came out that he'd bullied Anthea Turner? He called her Princess Tippytoes or similar made me like him even more
I like him and his Missus together-they have quite the double act going on.

ClartyCarol · 06/04/2013 00:28

God yes, what the actual fuck does Ruth see in him?

Caught him on TM a few weeks ago leching over some actress in Hollyoaks wesring bright red lippy. After the clip finished he turned to Ruth and smarmed something about "Don't you think if you wore lipstick like that your life would be so much... [tailed off obviously realising he was going to sound like a prize prick]...better?". She just gave him a withering "Er no, that's not me at all" and moved swiftly on.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 06/04/2013 00:31

He's an arrogant arse.

That is all.

howdoo · 06/04/2013 00:31

Agree - there's something about him that makes me think he's a nasty, angry, resentful little bully in his home life. I think it's because he'd like to look like Brad Pitt but he looks like, um, Eamonn Holmes!

SquirrelNuts · 06/04/2013 00:32

I dont like him or Ruth, i usually have this morning on, whilst doing all my hosuework, obviously! But i dont bother with it when its them too, both bloody irritating!

AgentZigzag · 06/04/2013 00:32

I've only ever seen him on his own on Sky News, maybe if I saw him with his wife I'd get the creepy Richard Madley vibe going on?

Or is that just Richard Madley's creepy vibe?

sjupes · 06/04/2013 00:47

I'd honestly take richard over eamon any day - i dislike him and ruth although at one point they were both as smarmy and cuntish as each other.

I think they paired them together to make her seem nice at least compared to him.

I tend not to watch these days as it's gone so downhill but especially when those two are on.

ClartyCarol · 06/04/2013 00:49

I find Ruth to be pretty inoffensive really.

WorraLiberty · 06/04/2013 00:54

I have to say I totally burst out laughing when he described Anthea Turner as Princess Tippy Toes.

That's exactly how I'd thought of her for years.

If that's his experience of working with her then good on him for saying so.

roundtheback · 06/04/2013 01:01

He's not actually very good though. I had a day off today and caught a bit of it, I actually felt embarrassed watching him. It's cringeworthy.

But yes, I suspect his assessment of Anthea Turner was somewhat accurate Grin

AgentZigzag · 06/04/2013 01:05

I used to quite like Richard and Judy when it was on, but I can't help but notice Madelys hair has taken on a sinister quality in recent years.

It's just Not Right, and makes my skin crawl in the same way a 'rat tail' down the back would before I got the scissors out and did them a favour

K8Middleton · 06/04/2013 01:08

He's a shit bag. So yabu to say he's mildly irritating. He is an obnoxious, arrogant shit bag. Although he speaks very highly of me.

AgentZigzag · 06/04/2013 01:10

'He's a shit bag. So yabu to say he's mildly irritating. He is an obnoxious, arrogant shit bag. Although he speaks very highly of me.'

Aren't you worried he'll find out you've been badmouthing him on the internet again Ruth? Grin

Growlithe · 06/04/2013 01:14

He's got a face I would never tire of slapping. And he is an obnoxious Man United fan.
