Seriously. I've been calling it "The Foetus".

Anyone else?

I have used the name Bernard and Horace for my foetus' on account of not liking cutesy names.

stifnstav · 05/04/2013 20:28

Velociraptor!

ots · 05/04/2013 20:58

We called DS Gilbert when he was still a bump...

I had some time off work with morning sickness and a colleague text to ask how I was feeling. I happened to mention that DS was the size of a grape. When I returned to work, there was a grape on my desk with a face drawn on it, and a post-it next to it saying 'Gilbert Grape'. So Gilbert stuck!

When I had my 20 wk scan, I had a text from another colleague to ask if I was carrying a Gilbert or a Gilberta! They were all most disappointed that we didn't actually name DS Gilbert! Grin

FriendofDorothy · 05/04/2013 21:00

My bump was called Winston.

Jayne266 · 05/04/2013 21:04

I used to call it by the size of a food it was at the time. My baby book used to say its the size of a poppy seed, it's the size of a orange etc.

Sailormercury · 05/04/2013 21:15

I think the one from Emma's diary was monkey but I'm not very sure because I put my Emma's diary in the bin as soon as I got home from the doctors.

Quak · 05/04/2013 22:23

I remember the abomination that was Emma's Diary. Sickening. However I was practically inhaling pregnancy information in the early days so read absolutely everything given to me. The bump was called 'flump' I think.

MVRC · 05/04/2013 22:41

I can't explain it but I can't stand it when people call them 'peanut'.

DS was Frankenstein.

doobeedee · 06/04/2013 18:30

Mine is called Douchbag.

Lily311 · 06/04/2013 20:09

Mine was/ is Ripley from the Alien movies.

SquinkiesRule · 06/04/2013 21:43

Mine was Bubba.

MsJupiterJones · 06/04/2013 22:27

DS was Emma the Embryo, particularly useful in the early days & no one knew, so I could mention Emma to DH.

Then he became the latest fruit from the What To Expect app, mango, papaya, cauliflower...

Now at 5 months old he is Bean, because he is one.

Twattybollocks · 06/04/2013 22:42

Ds was the squatter, dd1 was minime and dd2 was blobby.... Yanbu to not have a name though!

olivertheoctopus · 06/04/2013 22:45

It or the baby here. Boring as I know but can't be doing with Bean/Sprout etc

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/04/2013 22:53

DS (PFB) was The Lizard when he was on board.
And weirdly, when he was born I never called him "my baby" .He was always "My Son".

DD is still called "Baby Girl" and she's nearly 11 yo Grin

edwardsmum11 · 07/04/2013 08:11

Ds was peanut and bean and is still called both at times (now 19mths)

Jojobump1986 · 07/04/2013 08:14

DS2 is currently getting referred to as Sue. We can't think of a suitable, gender appropriate name that we both like!

Pickles101 · 07/04/2013 08:18

DD was 'fatty'.

I hate 'the baby', or worse, 'baby'

MarianaTrench · 07/04/2013 08:21

'The baby' or 'the fetus' as that's what it is. Cannot abide cutesy nicknames.

Ariel21 · 07/04/2013 11:14

Made the mistake of telling the husband that it's the size of a pea (allegedly). He then referred to it as pea as I left the house. LTB?

Sheepasaurus · 07/04/2013 11:25

flounderscominghome · 07/04/2013 13:41

Giraffeski · 07/04/2013 13:57

We called DD2 Dave.

Christelle2207 · 07/04/2013 13:59

Ours is just Bean

2rebecca · 07/04/2013 14:27
