Seriously. I've been calling it "The Foetus".

Anyone else?

OP posts:
sjupes · 05/04/2013 11:01

Dd1 was the baby or foetus
Ds was sweet baby
Dd2 (currently expecting) has been the little shit/bastard until we found out what she was now she's baby girl/girl

The kids are known as pain in the arse, brat and brat junior although junior needs changed as it's quite boyish..

MrsKoala · 05/04/2013 11:02

we called ours whatever fruit it was now the size of. i was tickled by all the 'your baby is now the size of a lemon/grapefruit' so he became 'the lemon/grapefruit'.

EuroShaggleton · 05/04/2013 11:06

ssash I wonder if we share a friend... My friend called her bump "the little f**ker" or "the alien"...

oscarwilde · 05/04/2013 11:07

No cute names. My husband liked an utterly dire name so called the baby it persistently as wind up. I was terrified it would stick Grin
We did change the baby's name every week or two once we had a short list or names post 26 weeks or so. We referred to the baby by name (just between ourselves) to see if it worked for us. Funny, some of our favourite names were ditched as they just didn't click for us.

CheckpointCharlie · 05/04/2013 11:07

Our first one was 'the freak' and second 'the wiggle'
I love them both a lot now.

MrsBungle · 05/04/2013 11:10

No cutesy names here either. Mostly they were both called "It" or "The Baby". Sometimes also "Alien" and "Parasite" Sounds bad now I have written it down! I really did feel like my body had been invaded by a life sucking parasite, though! I do love my DC's, honestly

vvviola · 05/04/2013 11:17

Gertrude Bartholomew for DD1. And told people that was the name we were going to use boy or girl Grin

(I will confess DD2's name was a bit more cutesy - essentially a diminutive of a nickname we have for DD1)

HeirToTheIronThrone · 05/04/2013 11:17

My friend is currently referring to hers as Agamemnon :)

sleepsforwimps2010 · 05/04/2013 11:28

dd was bob, Baby On Board..

Strangemagic · 05/04/2013 11:41

My 3 were "Fig" until we named them, then they were their nane IYKWIM

elliejjtiny · 05/04/2013 11:45

DS1 was Little one
DS2 was Tiny (still call him that sometimes)
DS3 didn't have one
DC4 is Severus, because I really like it but don't want to emotionally scar my child by using it for a "proper" name

TeWiSavesTheDay · 05/04/2013 11:57

All the feotus.

I also like to remind DH that I'm gestating.

DD referred to this baby as a jelly baby though, which from the mouth of a 4yo I found so cute it may stick.

Velve · 05/04/2013 12:08

My first was just nicknamed Amy, as we knew what we would call her.
DS was called "bean" by OH, and "shitpot" or "worm" by me. He still get called those, fairly accurate descriptions for a 7 month old.

Calabria · 05/04/2013 12:20

We went with Pubert. Which stuck throughout the whole pregnancy as we didn't know the sex until she was born.

WilsonFrickett · 05/04/2013 13:12

We were Cleatus the Foetus too Gary

Though when DH started saying 'Cleeeetus' in a redneck accent we did get a lot of catsbum mouths.

LadyFlumpalot · 05/04/2013 13:16

DS was Flump. Hence my username. It kinda stuck for 6 or so months after he was born.

This one is "spawn" so far or "sprogling mk.2"

HolidayArmadillo · 05/04/2013 13:20

DD was Frank. DS was the tummylodger.

SteepApproach · 05/04/2013 13:27

Glad to hear are more parasites out there, I thought I was the only one! Apparently, some people were horrified when I called it that, but no one dared say anything to my face. Grin We did have a cute name too, but that was mostly for between the two of us.

Pascha · 05/04/2013 13:28

I used 'Thingy' when I wasn't feeling cute.

WorkingtoohardMama · 05/04/2013 13:28

Pil's tried to call ds peanut, it drove me nuts! 'Hows peanut today? Is peanut kicking' mind you they are the champions of strange nicknames, they still call dh 'shoob' and he is 6ft and 16 stone - probably just totally outed myself with that admission!

Wishwehadgoneabroad · 05/04/2013 13:29

So long as you don't use the word 'bubba' ...

Still cringe when good friend of mine insists on using that word to describe our now 5 month old..

Thurlow · 05/04/2013 13:32

The baby. Occasionally The Bump. And if in a very bad mood (hyperemesis), The Parasite.

Most of our friends called the unborn baby 'Spawn of DPsurname' Grin

MyBootsAreMuddy · 05/04/2013 13:41

Didn't have one for my oldest dc, they were just baby.
Dd2 was pod as in pea pod.
Ds3 was Roger the lodger.
Dtwins were bubble and squeek!
