DP has been doing a lot of planting over the weekend, so I have had to hose the garden frequently.
And at the moment I'm also making sure that nothing takes root.

Sallyingforth It's because it's spring, I think. Round this time of year it's very difficult to stay out of the garden. As soon as the clocks go forward, DH and I can't wait. He gets his wellies on and he's head down in the herbacious border for hours - he barely comes up for tea and biscuits, then he's off again.

Yes I did suggest to DP that if he wore wellies I wouldn't need to wash the garden so often, but he says that he doesn't enjoy it so much with them on.

If your DP doesn't like wearing wellies (understandable, they can make your feet itch) then you should insist that he carefully aims the hose away from your herbaceous border ... particularly if he's spraying fertilser with it at the time.
