I know its slightky humorous to even imagine that ethics and Accident Claim Solicitors can share a sentence, but a friffing iPad or £1500 when a claim is accpted is surely beyond dubious?

Ah Chaos I love ya so will let the solicitor bashing slide, but generally there are reasons these firms will offer incentives. The costs generated by NWNF solicitors cover the costs of the iPad etc so it's not a loss to the firm. The solicitors get the compensation for the client and then add their bill of costs on top of this, so that the losing party has to pay. The solicitors firm generally makes enough money to cover the costs of such incentives.

However, they have introduced a whole new fee scheme to reduce the bills to solicitors so they will receive a lot less money soon for their bill. They are going to be on a fixed fee scheme so all the offers of iPads will shortly diminish.

Obviously spurious claims are wrong and indeed tantamount to fraud.but I think it is unfair to call no win no fee solicitors parasites as you did is unfair and wrong.the system does help to provide access to justice to those who are seriously injured as well as those with minor injuries.part of the problem comes from the reluctance of the law society to ban referral fees and incentives such as these,which make the offeror look sleazy....and perhaps encourages v minor and try on claims.the only incentives a leaderships offer is the promise of a Damon good job for a fair rate of pay.however the commoditization of this sort of legal work has/will largely do away with the local trusted high street lawyer.

Ah but they aren't all spurious claims are they? Some of them are genuine well about 30% plus the solicitors are only doing a job. It is fecking tough out in the legal world at the moment. And I mean really tough. People who've trained for six-seven years are having all of their fees cut, to make the Government more appealing to the insurance companies - who still manage to record stonking profits every fucking year. This, along with other changes to Legal Aid, means it is a very difficult time for solicitors and I'm sorry but I find insurance companies much bigger bastards than NWNF solicitors.

Claimants claim - no-one makes them. Incentives are just a business need IMHO.
