To think that children dont by cars

So why on earth do car manufacturers exclusively heavily feature children in their adverts?

I am a grown up. If I want to buy a car I will choose it not my DCs.

Any road up, as you were.

Really? You don't know why car ads feature children?!

Tiredmumno1 · 30/03/2013 17:39

It's to show that the car is suitable for a family.

HollyBerryBush · 30/03/2013 17:39

Coz you gotta spend the child allowance on petrol innit?

SneezingwakestheJesus · 30/03/2013 17:42

Parents buy cars.
Parents have children.

Voila!

WorrySighWorrySigh · 30/03/2013 17:57

The thing is that they dont feature children. They dont say 'look, your kids and all their clobber will fit in this car'. No, they say 'look kids, isnt this a really great car!'

Why? I bought a car recently, I didnt take my DCs with me and they are old enough to have an opinion (if I was going to pay attention to it!)

I keep buying cars quite forgetting that I have children so they are possibly aimed at people like me. Grin

"Taxi for Dearie!"

Is this really all you have to think and/or post about ffs? Really?

WorrySighWorrySigh · 30/03/2013 18:04

Dearie, did I insist on you posting? I cant remember sending that memo.

But who chooses their car because their DCs will be impressed by it?

Any road up, I had better go and name change again.

good grief Kim, you obviously understand these adverts far better than I do, I thought he was just trying to impress his son!

I have only been on MN for a few years (regular NCer), I have finally been handed my arse for starting a lighthearted thread.

I have arrived!
