to eat some of DS's Easter eggs?

DS is 19 months, and has received 7 Easter eggs.

Most of them are fairly small, but 2 of them are very large. Bigger than DS's head.

WIBU for DH & I to take the big ones and eat them ourselves?

I ate my 2yo's egg on thursday when I was stuck in the house and desperate. I have replaced with a lindt bunny

Well, the alternative would seem to be 'AIBU to let my baby eat his own weight in chocolate?' or 'AIBU to throw away chocolate that my baby can't physically eat before it goes off?'

[bushock] 7 easter eggs!!! lucky DS. Go ahead and eat them all [bugrin] he wont even know, maybe give him a tiny bit of each just so you can say 'yes he loved the easter egg you brought him'

Yes. I ate pretty much every egg mine recieved at that age. No way were they getting through that much chocolate, even out over a few weeks Shock.

I'll still eat a bit of the eggs these days, and they're 6 & 4 now.

Of course not, it would be unreasonable to make him eat all that unhealthy shit. Annoys me when my daughters grandparents keep buying her stacks of chocolate for xmas/easter, she gets given a tiny fraction of it, me and OH might eat some and the rest goes in the bin. Total waste really.

Could you donate any? I'm sure there would be charities/shelters/something that would gratefully take them? Surely a better option than binning them.

My family always buy our kids obscene amounts of chocolate at Easter. DH isn't a massive sweet tooth and has to eat all the yukky dark chocolate anyway so unfortunately, the regretful task of preserving my children's healthy eating habits falls to me. And I'm pregnant so must ensure I get all my calories you know...

I've been assured by other MNetters that it is the law to eat dc's easter eggs if they are too young to understand Smile . I'm assuming its going to be the same the with Christmas selection boxes.....

I'd say you were a terrible parent if you let him eat 7 eggs at that age. You have to eat them, its the only sensible decision.

i mean and refused to buy my dc any due to family buying them millions - and i of course will help them eat those ones as well :) it law

Yanbu. My lovely inlaws have bought the dc eggs, inc for the nearly one year olds.

They won't miss them. Maybe buy them a book instead as that's what we shall do.

Well, as it stands, DS hasn't eaten any of his eggs yet.

He seems to think that they are very funny, shiny, oddly shaped balls. So far none of the foil has come off, so he seems to be unaware that they're actually chocolate inside [bugrin]

Dh & I have not been able to bring ourselves to enlighten DS on this yet, as he's been having so much fun using them as balls so far.

StuntGirl - don't worry, they won't get binned. DH & I are prepared to sacrifice ourselves and eat them all if necessary. Or possibly share them with our work colleagues.

Help him eat them! It's the christian thing to do. :)

Make a game out of it. Pass the egg. pass the egg to and fro and when the music stops whoever is holding the egg gets a bite. This way he will know it is all fair and square. Wink

Unless he's less gullible than I was when my 5yr old DN made me play this with my egg. Angry

Please tell me that people do not throw away perfectly edible chocolate easter eggs because they have too many?!?!
