White wine stays lovely and cold in the garage. No need to give up valuable fridge space.

It depends if you can bring yourself to head out into the cold garage to go and retrieve it

grovel · 25/03/2013 15:56

I can.

Yabu as I am pregnant and jealous of your white wine indulgence! Envy

FeckOffCup · 25/03/2013 16:05

Does this weather mean we are likely to see less wasps this summer, as they would need to come out of hibernation about now to start building their new nests but the cold will kill them if they do? That would be good, I hate the stripy little fuckers.

grovel · 25/03/2013 16:17

Do wasps steal your wine?

SoupDreggon · 25/03/2013 16:20

I have a dedicated wine fridge so I'd quite like a bit of a heatwave thanks!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 25/03/2013 16:22

Well - if you are going to have a wine fridge, you wouldn't want a dilettante one, SoupDreggon!

YABU to keep food in your fridge in preference to wine. Have a word with yourself OP.

grovel · 25/03/2013 17:05

I only keep chocolate in my fridge.

I hate this weather, hate it. I sit with my bottle of red warming through on a radiator as I let it 'breathe'.

BadgersRetreat · 25/03/2013 17:14

my garage gets colder than my freezer in winter Sad

CaptainSweatPants · 25/03/2013 17:15

Oh yes please let it mean they'll be fewer wasps, I'd love to be able to sit in a beer garden with a pint without being plagued Grin

WorriedMummy73 · 25/03/2013 17:37

I can totally see your point, Op, and I very rarely drink!

But god I wish this weather would fuck right off now. We've had more snow over the weekend and it was hellish getting the kids to school this morning - we get the bus, it's a half-hourly service and our bus broke down before it even got to us. Kids were cold and fed up, then we were late for school (again - bloody bus service is useless) and then, at the end of the day BOTH buses on the route broke down!!! So I was late getting to the school to collect them AND there was no bus back so we had to get a taxi.

This would all be so much more pleasant if we could stroll home in the sunshine or sit on the wall at the bus stop and wait.

Please, please, please, let this be the last of the snow now...

mrsjay · 25/03/2013 17:38

BUt what if you dont have a garage bit of smuggery that boasting about your lovely garage Grin

thebody · 25/03/2013 17:39

Op you are right. We chilled our weekend wine nicely in the garden.

However I hate this cold weather. Roll on spring.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 25/03/2013 17:40

That's fine if you like white wine but I don't and my reds are too cold.

I'm hoping it kills all the slugs and snails.

lolaflores · 25/03/2013 17:41

worried that sounds like a trip and a half. Poor you. Roll out the white wine, that should help.
I feel as though small pixies have been slapping my ears, they are all stingy and sore.
fuck off the cold. mind you, i am worried about a bastard hot summer all the same.
no pleasing some folk is there.

MamaMumra · 25/03/2013 19:05

I am agog at chocolate in the fridge Shock

I keep mine by the window so it's semi melted.

grovel · 25/03/2013 19:09

Chocolate, like meat, comes out of the fridge 20-30 minutes before it is needed. So I take some out every 20 minutes.

OP posts:
WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 25/03/2013 19:19

Chocolate should never go in the fridge, much nicer at room temperature.

JenFreggle · 25/03/2013 20:32

I wish we had snow, it's freezing and we don't even get snow to play in :(

FeckOffCup · 26/03/2013 14:37

I don't know if wasps steal wine, I don't like wine. A relative of DH's though was stung in the mouth by a wasp swimming in his beer can so maybe they prefer ale.

monkeyfacegrace · 26/03/2013 14:44

No, no, NO.

Chocolate should be kept in the freezer, so it snaps and crumbles in crispy gorgeousness.

White wine should have a dedicated wine fridge. Red should have a special shelf above a radiator.

HTH.

Dancergirl · 26/03/2013 14:47

I don't mind the cold weather, it's still only March after all, not June.

And just think how much we'll appreciate the spring when it arrives... Smile
