I have crazy hair...I love it (obviously) but get quite a lot of dirty looks and nasty comments.

Today a lady came up to me in town and said I'd "brightened up her day", which totally brightened up mine! So nice to have a nice comment Grin

Also made the 4 hours I spent braiding and installing last night worth it.

Well you have brightened up my day as well...just lovely.
Thank you for sharing

LRDtheFeministDragon · 22/03/2013 23:05

Wow, that is beautiful! Gorgeous.

ConfusedPixie · 22/03/2013 23:06

I love your hair. The shaved bit is a bit eccentric Wink but I really do love your hair!

It inspires me to do mine bright red and try dreads Grin I've had it purple in the past, but didn't have the guts to try dreads!

Buddhagirl · 22/03/2013 23:07

Oh God I miss my dreads :-( I had to chop mine off for work. Fail. Don't miss the weird comments though! Plus people JUDGE you.

MurderOfGoths · 22/03/2013 23:18

They look amazing, making me miss mine! Damn carpal tunnel meaning I can't do them at the moment :(

MammaTJ · 22/03/2013 23:31

You are truly beautiful!!

SirBoobAlot · 22/03/2013 23:35

Your hair looks awesome! And you're very pretty :)

Someone told me recently that my purple walking sticks were the highlight of her week, that had me smiling for ages!

OneHundredSecondsofSolitude · 22/03/2013 23:37

I want too see too :(

Will try on computer tomorrow

What are installations please?

MurderOfGoths · 22/03/2013 23:39

OneHundred It's when you attach dreads to your hair rather than dreading your own hair.

MurderOfGoths · 22/03/2013 23:40

Btw OP how easy/expensive is it to dye and felt your own? Have only ever used pre-made ones.

Wewereherefirst · 22/03/2013 23:40

That is beautiful! I love it Grin

Lilipaddle · 22/03/2013 23:41

Wow! I don't normally like dreads, but they're amazing!!
I'm surprised you don't get more compliments!

WorraLiberty · 22/03/2013 23:47

I can't make up my mind whether I like them or not...but the pics fascinated me in a good way Grin

Either way, you're very creative and YANBU at all to be cheered by her comment.

discrete · 22/03/2013 23:51

Oh, those are lovely. I'd better not show them to ds1 or I shall spend the next few weeks dyeing and tying dreads to his head...or arguing about it (he is 6 and deeply in love with bright colours)

ScarletLady02 · 23/03/2013 07:48

Oh wow, thanks for all the lovely comments Blush

To the PP who asked, yes I have this username on another site - PM who you are, I know a few ladies from there are on here.

I do get judged a lot, especially when out with DD. I've been told to "grow up and start dressing like a mother". I've had people think I was a druggy. I get called "hippy" quite a lot as well...but I pretty much am one so don't mind that. Plus I've been called "Predator" more times than I care to remember Hmm I got my hair yanked really hard in a nightclub toilets once too....that was quite scary, but mostly it's just comments.

MurderOfGoths - I probably spent around £15 on wool, and it takes a few days to make them but most of that is time spent in the washing machine. It's really not hard, although the little coloured accents take a while and a bit more skill than just straight coloured ones (I can needle felt and wet felt) I can link you to some tutorials if you like, it's great fun and the satisfaction of wearing your own is great Smile

My arms and hands DO hurt....I get random shooting pains in my wrists and elbows quite a lot, but then my joints are buggered elsewhere as well.

Right, think I answered everything, I'll try and upload some pics to my profile now (don't know why I didn't just do that in the first place).

Wow, it's amazing. I want your hair.

KoalaFace · 23/03/2013 08:01

Gorgeous! I wish I could carry off something so bold!

ScarletLady02 · 23/03/2013 08:03

Ok, pics on my profile now for those who wanted to see, and thank-you again for the lovely comments, great start to the day for me Grin

If anyone saw my post last weekend, you will know I'm off out tonight for the first time in AGES, that's the reason for the new hair. Can't wait!

Amazing!! Looks so good!

TastesLikePanda · 23/03/2013 08:07

I have multi coloured hair atm and the compliments far outweigh the bad comments!
I was having The Day From Hell at work recently and when a customer said 'excuse me' I thought I could cry at being interrupted again but then she just smiled and said ' your hair looks amazing!' and it totally lifted me! Everyone after her got great service because she had raised my spirits so high!

AwkwardSquad · 23/03/2013 08:08

Your hair is lovely!

TastesLikePanda · 23/03/2013 08:08

And your hair is beautiful, as are you!
