Smeone might give us their old table but we could only put it in the garden (no room in house at all)

Is it a realllllllllllly annoying tap tap tap to hear, i e if its in the garden will our borderline neurotic neighbours get the hump? I don,t want to create agggg in our road. Would the noise annoy you? I dont think it would annoy me, but am wondering about other peoples reactions etc.

Why don't you ask them if they have heard anything unusual after a few days... if they refer to a constant tap tap tapping then you're probably playing it too much and it's annoying.

If you don't ask them and they complain about it, then you also know that it's annoying so you stop.

In moderation I doubt it's terribly irritating.

It certainly wouldn't annoy me.

Just make sure that the balls don't go over into their garden - and enjoy yourselves.

WorraLiberty · 22/03/2013 15:03

It wouldn't annoy me.

Certainly no more than the noise of my neighbour's pond does.

They find the constant sound of trickling water relaxing. I just find it makes me want to wee Grin

The neighbours at the back of our garden have one. It's bloody annoying.

YellowandGreenandRedandBlue · 22/03/2013 15:04

No, I find smoking, loud aggressive swearing and barking dogs annoying. Most other stuff fine.

Table tennis sounds fun.

JollyYellowGiant · 22/03/2013 15:05

The only negative about having a table tennis table in the garden is that the wind can affect play.

Our neighbours never complained.

AuntieStella · 22/03/2013 15:07

It's OK, as long as you're not playing all hours (or trying strip ping pong with alcohol forfeits).

How will you weather-proof the table, though? It would be a shame if it became warped.

lainiekazan · 22/03/2013 15:08

Our neighbour threatened to call the police!

I can just imagine what the police would have thought as they stormed in to find a couple of desperate 12-year-olds armed with ping pong bats...

JollyYellowGiant · 22/03/2013 15:09

You can buy covers :)

Startail · 22/03/2013 15:18

Tech no music through open windows is annoying, swearing is annoying. Ping pong ouht not to be unless accompanied by excited screeching, like my two do in the pool. Honestly is it really necessary to screech just because you are wet.

LastTangoInDevonshire · 22/03/2013 17:57

It would drive me nuts - ping pong tap tap yessssssssss ping pong tap tap tap tap yesssssssssss beat yer !! Just like my neighbour's bamboo fucking windchimes nearly drove me demented.

kennyp · 22/03/2013 18:21

Lol, i love a windchime!! It has a cover so shd be okay in the garden. Perhaps if i sing loudly and tunefully whilst playing it will distract from the tap tap tapping. Thanks allll:)
