I love Stilton. But you've sort of put me off it somehow Grin

My favourite cheese, known in my family as Smelly Socks Cheese. Yummy on crackers, accompanied with a nice glass of Wine. But YABU to eat it when visitors coming. They might want to share it with you...

Stilton smells of sweaty socks.

Has anyone tried the blue cheese called Cornish blue, I've only seen it in tescos but its gorgeous!!

GadaboutTheGreat · 21/03/2013 22:53

Colston Bassett. The king of Stiltons. Drooooool...

tigerdriverII · 21/03/2013 22:53

Had some Stinking Bishop the other day, was yummy but took a couple of days to get the taste out of my mouth. A couple of weeks before we were given a taste of rotting shark (half term in Iceland), the shark had less ammonia than the SB. So your Stilton is tame, lady!

susiedaisy · 21/03/2013 22:56

"So your Stilton is tame, lady!" GrinGrin

tigerdriverII · 21/03/2013 22:59

Grin. Do they do a quote of the week on MN? If this was about ham I'd be in!

airforce1 · 21/03/2013 23:00

God, there's one french cheese which is deelish when it's fresh but tastes and smells like festering boils once it starts leaking.

Never unreasonable to eat stilton! And Gada, I'm with you - it HAS to be Colsten Bassett!

CoolaSchmoola · 22/03/2013 06:11

Epoisses (sp?) is the stinkiest most evil cheese on the planet. My brother loves it... I think it smells like fermented cat pee!
