On Facebook that is?

My DP started a new job and was meant to ne paid last Friday, of course the company messed this up and now nearly a week later they have finally said that he will get paid Tuesday, a week and half late.
We have rent due, bugger all food and absolutely nothing until he gets paid so we are not happy.

I posted on Facebook that I was fucked off that company have messed up and ranting about how we are meant to get by, the next thing I know DPs boss phone's bollocking him for allowing me to post this on my private profile.

I know now how they know about it a friend of mine also works for the said company and went running to boss man, she has been deleted.

I removed it to save hassle but AIBU to think WTF I can post what the hell I like on my profile and it shouldn't affect DPs job end of the day he isn't myboss and if ththey don't want me making the company look bad then they should bloody pay him on time not a week and a half late?

No you shouldn't have posted that regardless of how pissed off you are.

You have made things hard for your dh at work and he looks unprofessional and perhaps untrustworthy.

TBH, it's a risk you take when you post such stuff, but I can see why your DH's boss is pissed off at the public slagging off (albeit deserved). That would be a sacking offence in some firms.

I can see why you're seething, though, OP. But it's your DP who will bear the brunt of any fallout. Have they said when they'll pay him yet?

I can why you are seething but you're lucky he wasn't sacked. Plenty of firms do that (and if you're new in a job you have zero rights basically).

slagging off your dh's employer on fb when people who work for said company are your friends on fb is very stupid. If your dh had done that he could have been sacked. yabu.

You can post what you like, but have to take e consequences. Which in this case is adding additional complication and stress into your DH's relationship with his employer.

How come they read it? Do you need to review your security settings?

fwiw I don't think the dh could be sacked for what his dw posts on fb, but it's still not a wise move.

Yeah next week he should get paid apparently.
Thing is I didn't tag DP in status and we have different surnames so its not obvious I'm his DP, my profile is completely private so only friends can see what I post and I didn't tag said company in the status so the only way they could know that 1 I posted about DP and 2 about that company is if a certain person on my friends list went running to her boss grassing me up.

I don't understand why you posted something that would obviously jeopardise your DP's reputation with his new employer. My DH would be furious if I did this. It is annoying that they are paying him a week late, but I think there were maturer ways to deal with it.

So if you had no money what so ever because a useless company (honestly its poor -zero hour contracts etc) and a family of 5 to feed and house, you wouldn't be tempted to rant a bit when you thought that what was said was private ?

I can see why they're annoyed. Supposing suppliers see the post and conclude that his employer is no longer creditworthy?

That said, they should be able to advance a few hundred quid to tide your DP over, and then take that out of the salary payment.

I can u derstand you wanting to rant, but do remember the internet is public information which hangs around forever. And even this thread is public so careful now. Next time, just post "fcty ffs fuckety fck" on fb and then DM your true friends the details.

So here on MN (under a namechange) or to a private group on FB. But not on my regular wall or under my normal MN name.

Why the hell would you do this?! I hated my last job and the managers with a passion, didn't mean I bad mouthed them on fb every evening! Where's your bloody dignity? You're really lucky you didn't get him fired due to your stupidity.

yes, of course you can post what you like, and no your husband dosen't get to 'allow' you to do anything - its not the 1950s!

I - for example - can post that I cannot stand my DH mates wife. DH can do nothing about it. DHs mate will see it, as will his wife, probably (her friends invite is sitting in my inbox still)

However it will mean that our friendly meals out with mutual friends - that we met though DHs mate - will probably be curtailed, and as we don't have a huge social circle here I keep my fingers to myself.

Sometime discretion IS the better part of valour. Wink
