I've got a cold. Whole family have had it and i've been without proper sleep for a couple of weeks looking after them. Now it's me, i'm at the bit of a temp, sore throat, pounding headache and constantly dripping nose stage (nice!) . Hauled myself out of bed this morning to sort out dog, kids etc etc and dh has just announced he has been awake since 6!!!! AIBU to think he could have at least got up and made me a coffee? Sorry trivial whinge, feeling sorry for myself!

Maybe you are soldiering on too bravely. If your family are unaware of how ropey you're feeling you won't get the TLC you deserve. Think of man flu and try harder to get sympathy. You have my sympathy and an imaginary lemsip.

Brew Poor you. What do you have to do today? If you're working can you look after yourself as well. Wear something extra comfy under your normal clothes? I've discovered how much cosier I feel with thick socks and chunkier boots rather than smart heels. Is there anything like that you can do for yourself today?

DH never knows whether I'll be cross at being woken up with a hot drink, so I bought a teasmade.
Probably missing the point entirely with my hot drink obsession

Here you go Brew

I second the not soldiering on. DH won't even have noticed that you're sick unless you LET him know.
Take something for the pain. Hope you feel better soon.

Continuing with my hot drink obsession, drink as much as possible- not milky, but tea, especially herbal- sage is very good for sore throats and soups.
Hope you feel better soon.

Brew Hope the school run wasn't too messy. Do you get to go back tobed now?

Pulled myself out of my pity pit and getting on with work (lucky i work from home) and washing. Thanks for the nice comments, it made me feel a lot better. I have paracetamol and tea and have told myself not to be such a wuss! (Until next time).

I feel for you, I really do. All my lot have been ill - me as well. DH decided he had to spend all sunday in bed as he was so ill. I had been the same and had been up for the fourth night running with my dd (six changes of bedding, aargghh!!). I apparently was 'nowhere near as ill' as he was ... a little help would have been nice ... :(
