AIBU to blame Toy Story and Lotsa bear

Yesterday in Tesco I bought Dd8 a doll. She really liked it and brought it on a trip with her dad today. They went by Aeroplane and came home by ferry. The doll was left behind on a ferry over 100 miles from home. I have offered to buy another out of Tesco as the cost was about £12. BUT she is not happy as the doll would have been abandoned and she won't have come back for it. (Toy story plot!)

I will phone lost property tomorrow and see if they will post it. Otherwise will have to buy in Tesco and post to myself!

Didn't Andy donate all his toys (including Buzz and Woody) to a little girl at the end (TS3)? Couldn't you make up a story to say that all the abandoned toys are collected by a caring Mum who works on the Airline/Ferry/Coach (use whichever is applicable for future 'lost' toys) and then when she has a full box of toys they get delivered to a new owner who will look after them and then they get passed on to "Sunny Side" nursery when that owner is finished with them?

You have to get creative with how you can explain stuff

If lost and found don't have it, could you not just buy her another one, and then say that they did find it, and posted it to you?

Buy another and tell her Woody and Buzz knocked on the door when she was in bed to bring back her missing doll ...don't tell her dolly's gone to sunnyside, that will probably worry her more ! ( sorry, as you can probably tell, I am also a Toy Story fan )

LOVELY IDEA ABOUT BUYING A NEW ONE AND POSTING IT TO YOUR SELF. BUT REMEBER TAKE IT OUT OF THE PACKAGING.

I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD WHO LOVES LOVES LOVES TOYSTORY.

Ok - ditch the Sunny Side idea - though I thought that place improved once Ken & Barbie took over....did I miss something???
