WIBU to feed DH nothing but soup for the next week

I just made a big pot of pumpkin, celery & carrot soup. Lightly spiced. It was going to be delicious. I made loads, enough for lunches for me, to use as a pasta sauce for DD2(18 months), and some to freeze. All that remained was to blend it.

DH wanted to have lunch just as I was putting DD down for her nap. So I said, just blend it & reheat.

Came down - he'd spotted my spice box on the counter & added a whole load of cayenne pepper (before he even tasted it). It's barely edible, my tongue is still tingling from a small taste, and there is no way I can give it to DD Angry

WIBU to feed him nothing but the soup until it's all gone, since he's now the only one who will/can eat it.

(Can't tone it down with yoghurt/milk as DD2 & I are both dairy free)

He's a git isn't he!! Definitely refuse to cook anything else for him he'll know better next time.

YANBU. What a waste otherwise.

Cyclefaster · 19/03/2013 23:54

Def make him eat it all. He added the 'flavour' so his choice! 😬

LTB

Have you added a potato or 2? I think it absorbs some of the spice.

bedmonster · 19/03/2013 23:57

NO NO!! On second thoughts I think it absorbs salt! Sorry...

CuriousMama · 20/03/2013 00:00

You're right bedmonster. Thick slices of potato simmered for 5 mins then remove.

Loulybelle · 20/03/2013 00:03

Nope, give him soup for breakfast, lunch and dinner, that'll teach to never touch your soup again....and after eating just (and probably and few pounds lighter) he wont wanna eat soup again.

vvviola · 20/03/2013 01:26

I think he's been reading MN!

He just came in, saw my untouched bowl of soup on the table and said "I'm eating soup every day this week for lunch, aren't it?"

He is suitably apologetic, but still maintains he thinks it tastes lovely as it is. Grin

I may try the potato trick, just in case though, because I was quite looking forward to a nice bowl of soup.

YANBU

DH has a bottle of chilli sauce and is well trained that be can fuck his own food up on his own plate, but must not add 'a hint of heat' to the main pot.

CuriousMama · 20/03/2013 08:19

Glad he sees sense Wink

Dp puts chilli sauce on beans on toast, sacrilege!!

Loulybelle · 20/03/2013 08:28

Ahhhhh Viola, you must have him atuned to your emotions and body language, atleast he knows where he stands.
