To be sick of wiping arses?

Have obviously been doing my own for the last 30ish years. But have spent the last 11 years wiping other people's. Don't mind doing baby DD's, as she has sweet-smelling breastmilk poo. But 6 year old won't do her own, and she does the biggest, stinkiest shits known to mankind. She kindly bends over and touches her toes whilst sitting on the loo, and yells, "FINISHED!", the smell actually makes me gag. I love my four DC, but really, I am sick of poo!

Oh gosh me too! DS is 4 and does the whole bending over thing too. I'm v sure he should be doing this himself now...I'm sure the teachers won't when he gets to school!

Good grief! Is there any reason why the six year old doesn't wipe her own arse?!

Dannilion · 19/03/2013 20:07

Do 6 year olds REALLY not wipe their own arses? What on earth have I let myself in for??? Sad

LalaSalama · 19/03/2013 20:11

I feel your pain but have been wiping arses for the last 14 years (dd2 is disabled) - I have seen more poo than any human should have to tolerate......

Moominlandmidwinter · 19/03/2013 20:11

She used to do it, but regressed when DD4 was born. Am hoping it is just a small phase, and encouraging her to do it herself. She also says that she's worried about not doing it properly and leaving skids!

LalaSalama, hope I haven't offended you. It's just annoying when I've got children who can do it themselves, they won't!

If she is capable of doing it herself and has just regressed, I'd stand my ground about it. If she's worried about skidmarks, wiping her own bum will be better than not getting it wiped at all.

Had the opposite problem with our goddaughter (2.5 at the time), who insisted on doing it herself and occasionally made a mess.

LalaSalama · 19/03/2013 20:30

No no not offended. I do know how you feel :)

Moominlandmidwinter · 19/03/2013 20:55

Phew! Smile

Mostly, you are right. I think I will buy her some wipes, and stand my ground. I know that she is capable! Will still have to wipe the baby's bum for the next few years though Smile.

YANBU mine gang up & poo bomb me. Not literally, but today I was wiping dd (3) 's arse after her man sized, ponging shit when DS (1) waddled in with a hum exuding.

YesIamYourSisterInLaw · 19/03/2013 22:31

Uh I'm a carer, I think I will arse wiping bingo

SmiteYouWithThunderbolts · 19/03/2013 22:39

I've had 8 years of poo from various children and will cherish the day that dc4 is out of nappies & I never have to do it again.
