to think it's no wonder why people don't bother letting doctors know that they won't turn up?

Trying to cancel an appointment with a nurse for 3:30. I have a banging headache, want to go to bed and not sit in a waiting room and then have to sit through a detailed medical history, answering questions, undergoing checks, etc for a nurse check at a new surgery.

I started calling at 2:40. Called, got hung up on automatically as the line was busy. I have been pressing redial since then and still haven't gotten through. They complain on their website that they get 40 Did Not Attends with no notice every month, but ffs I'm going to be one of them if you don't sort out your sodding phone system Angry

It's very exciting when it starts to ring, isn't it! Grin

Did you tell them you'd been trying for half an hour to get through to them? YANBU imo!

ffswhatnow · 19/03/2013 15:19

Definitely worth feeding back to them - it's only by putting in complaints that services can really improve

ConfusedPixie · 19/03/2013 15:19

Yes it is! It shouldn't take me nearly 40 minutes to cancel an appointment! And I'm now going to bed to try sleep off this sodding headache before I have to cancel a viewing I have booked for 6:30

I will be putting in a complaint, but another day! Lady on the phone apologised at least! I asked if there was anything wrong with the phone system as I seemed to have so much trouble getting through. Apparently it's something they want to fix.

  • please don't cry, you'll make your head worse! Maybe it will get better before 6:30?
ffswhatnow · 19/03/2013 15:23

Sounds like the NHS all over - so many things that they want to fix, no resources to do it, but hey, what does it matter?

have a sweet cup of tea and some painkillers, and stop looking at your lovely computer screen for a while. Hugs!!!
