I have just melted 20g of Luscious Orange Willies Cacao chocolate in a ramekin and then dipped a banana into it and ate the lot. Chocolate all warm and runny and then solidifying and sticking to teeth

This is what it is all about and only 3 weightwatchers points

Doctorhamster then whatever you do don't get a cat like mine. I don't get a minute's peace. He yells incessantly to go out/come in/have some meat/have some biscuits/go out again. It's more tiring than having the kids here, at least there's someone else to take turns doing his bidding!
(and no I cannot ignore him, others have tried and gone mad in the attempt).

It wasn't until I was signed off after a miscarriage that I appreciated how important time alone is. I spend my life being there for other people and rushing from here to there. If you can do it, who the fuck shouldn't you stay at home and eat chocolate? It must be good for your soul. (I'm plotting my escape from full time work!)

Someone said to me the other day 'oh, you'll be going back full time (am part time now) when DS goes to school, yes?' Um, one - he is only 15 months and two -not if I don't need to!

Today I took a much needed mental health day. Day of annual leave, packed DS off to nursery and husband to work and sat on my arse all day and read my book and did some knitting. Heavenly.

I got bored being a full time SAHM of school aged children so now work 2.5 days a week. It eases my guilt when I have a mid morning bubble bath and read trashy magazines on the other 2.5 days

I went for a lovely walk around a lake today so I definitely deserve my hazelnut chocolate from LIDL tonight (even fitted in a LIDL shop too, and looked after DS and DH who are off with nasty colds)
But still had plenty of time to Mumsnet and watch CBBC with DS

(And for those who must ask I had a job until last October (P/T in pre-school) but zero hours and no work offered since then)

But there's more to life than work ... family and chocolate are right up there !

My guilty pleasures are proper french creme brulees from waitrose and yum yums from m&s with a cup of tea and my feet up watching tv or reading in bed. And I don't feel guilty. It was damn hard for many years before the DC's both went to school so I definately deserve an easier time now.

And yes, I agree, it would be selfish of me to take on a job when it could be had by someone who needs and wants it more than I do.

I had 3 lovely months of being sahm of school age dc until pesky dc3 came along and spoiled all my fun. I ate lunch out, went for long walks with a borrowed dog, read loads and was just there for the dds. Inset days, holidays, clubs, playdates, parties, illnesses, Xmas plays, assemblies, all the stuff my mum felt guilty about missing out on.
We are lucky enough to be in the position where only one of us needs a job and dp loves his and is very good at it. Unless things change drastically or I get very bored when ds goes to school in 3 years time, I will continue being a sahm. I love it. Especially when ds has his daily 3 hour snooze and I watch tv, mn, read, clean up a bit and eat malteaser bunnies . I am very proud of my bunny munching abilities

I'm pretending at the moment. DC2 is overdue and DC1 will stay at nursery full time for another couple of months. Since finishing for mat leave I've had the most glorious month of napping, strolling, long baths, watching trashy crime dramas and eating. Today: nap, stroll and lunch in a cafe with my book, quick look in the shops, tea and cake in another cafe. Even the house move we've fitted in during this time hasn't taken the sheen off.

Shame another baby has to come along and spoil the fun. Then I have to return to work next year. Still, at least I get to have one of you come and clean my house when I go back to being a working mum .

I work a shift pattern days & nights & off and live for the 3 days off during the week where i can pack her off to school and have a kid free bath or can go back to bed for a snooze with the cats bliss and I cant wait til Friday lol

I've been a sahm with little ones for 6 years now, dd starts school in 2.5 years. We don't have loads of money and I am probably going to retrain as errr something but when dd is in p1 I will be a sahm of school Aged children and I cannot wait! I have ambitions of my house being like a show house / going for runs / making gourmet meals but in reality I may well watch daytime TV and sleep.

I was supposed to be having a mental health day today but dd has decided she is too ill to go to nursery (but not ill enough to go back to bed) and dh has decided that as I am off and he doesnt start work til later he will have a nice lie in!

I was going to give up my 2 SAHM days in august when dd goes to school but after reading this thread im bloody keeping them!

I am a bit pissed off actually. I recorded the second series of stella and someone has deleted it. So I will have to console myself with the trauma of that too

I can't wait until DD is at school and I will get my two non working days all to myself. I'm also asked regularly if I will return to full time. Not on your life.

I've been a SAHM since Christmas. I'm only just learning to not feel guilty watching TV.
The best thing about it? Not having to juggle time off to assemblies, liturgies, shows; being around for play dates and picking the children up every day. I love it.

Owllady apparently on newer Sky boxes you can still access deleted stuff if it was deleted recently enough - something about one of the tabs? Worth a look before you give up.

After Easter I will have two afternoons a week to myself. I am reserving at least one a week as Sit On Arse day. This makes up for the fact that your average SAHM is on duty from 6am to 9pm what with laundry, packed lunches, etc. A couple of hours watching Legally Blonde is hardly the life of Riley.

It's all very well saying get a job, but finding one that fits with school run when you live in a rural area is just hilarious. It's dog walking or cleaning and my standards aren't good enough to clean other people's houses which both takes a job from someone who needs it more and would cut into lobster bisque time.

I spent 2 1/2 hours walking my own dogs this morning I don't think i have time for anyone elses. I attracted a man on my walk too, who had an ear ring

It will have to be gone with the wind tomorrow :o
