AIBU to play all Wii Sports like it's an ACTUAL sport?

I'm a bit drunk. SIL has the Wii out and thinks my footwork on bowling is awesome. She hasn't even seen my tennis topspin yet - AIBU to do it properly or not do it at all?

When my mum played tennis on the Wii for the first time, she threw an imaginary ball in the air to serve. I may have actually wet myself Grin
Go for it, but people may laugh.

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 16/03/2013 22:14

I have a special wimbledon style green towel and a bottle of barley water for the tennis.

JenaiMorris · 16/03/2013 22:15

Watching my pissed, 75yo mother in law on the balance board doing Shaun Thingy's snowboarding was priceless.

YANBU :)

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 16/03/2013 22:16

And I have been reliably informed that wearing a riding hat and jodhpurs for the showjumping on Mario & Sonic at the London Olympics is, apparently, taking it too far.

I, however, disagree.

thornrose · 16/03/2013 22:16

Oh and don't get me started on mum's Mario Kart "skills"!

thornrose · 16/03/2013 22:18

Oh Jenai, I think your MIL story is fab, Envy that its funnier than mine.

JenaiMorris · 16/03/2013 22:19

Arf, you silly buggers Grin

NoWayNoHow · 16/03/2013 22:25

Thorn rose, you have had us all in stitches with that story. Bless her Grin

Tennis ball throwing mum is brilliant

I want to see her karting skillz.

Loulybelle · 16/03/2013 22:35

Im fecking class on that damn bowling, its the baseball that gets me, you should see me hula hooping, you would die of laughter.

Tennis ball throw, thats class, sheer class. im still laughing now.

thornrose · 16/03/2013 22:42

To add to the image, mum is very refined, high maintenance 67 yr old. The type that never farts and certainly doesn't play "video games".

NoWayNoHow · 16/03/2013 22:44

Two strikes in a row!

Top sin time also time to stop drinking wine

OP posts:
thornrose · 16/03/2013 22:46

It is NOT time to stop drinking wine, I've not long started. I'm thinking of getting the Wii out now but would have to play alone Sad

bedmonster · 16/03/2013 22:48

YWBU if you didn't take it seriously!
DP and I have been known to humour the kids in a few games of bowling, mario kart etc, then tuck them up in bed, race downstairs, turn the volume down on the tv and get serious about it. Sweat, blood and tears have been
shed over who gets 3 strikes in a row Grin

And thorne I just actually guffawed about your mum and the tennis ball!

Mumof3men · 16/03/2013 23:12

oh I love the wii, makes note to self to get it out again
