I got into the habit of checking it every day when we were looking for our girl. We've had her a week now but I can't stop myself from looking at it every day even though we definitely don't want another cat (not now anyway). I think I just like it when they get marked as rehomed. There are a couple of cats who are still there from when I started looking over a month ago and it makes me sad that they still haven't found someone to love them.

Aren't they cute?

She's gorgeous catsmother! How on earth did you manage to get such a good photo of her?

you could have housecats so they wouldnt bring anything home although Im not keen on the housecat idea mine liked to roam, a hamster what about a hamster matilda Grin

Sparklingbrook · 16/03/2013 16:57

Sparkling Cat doesn't catch birds. We get tiny voles and grass-snakes.

mrsjay · 16/03/2013 16:58

and grass-snakes

Shock I would faint or have to move house

Sparklingbrook · 16/03/2013 17:18

mrsjay pic of grass-snake on my profile if you are feeling brave. Grin

mrsjay · 16/03/2013 17:20

So relieved to hear it isn't only me. I stalk the Celia Hammond pages because they often tell you a little bit about the cat's history. The have lots of cats with one eye, one leg, etc and I always want to have them all. If DH catches me looking he just gives me one of his special looks (we already have two moggies) and that's enough of a reality check!

Sparklingbrook · 16/03/2013 17:27

Thanks Schmaltzing she really is lovely. Smile

Horsemad · 16/03/2013 17:29

catsmother your cat is bee-yoo-ti-ful Smile - gorgeous pic.

Sparkling my DH has fallen in love with SparklingCat's pic Grin

pansyflimflam · 16/03/2013 17:47

God help me! I have spent 2 hours cruising cats on rescue sites and now on pets4homes.......... must stop but desperate for cats. Stunned that people charge £150 for a moggy kitten in France they give them away!!!!!!!!

CruCru · 16/03/2013 18:00

What makes me laugh about the Battersea pages are the issues some of the cats have. A while ago there was one that couldn't have stairs, other cats, children, or where the new owners had jobs or went on holiday. An impractical cat. That's hilarious.

Sparklingbrook · 16/03/2013 18:15

Aww thanks Horse I will tell her she has an admirer. Grin

FairPhyllis · 16/03/2013 20:18

Oh I do this too. And I like looking at the 'Happy Endings' pages to see lots of lovely pussies lolling around on people's beds and sofas looking totally spoilt.

catsmother · 16/03/2013 21:16

Thanks everyone for the compliments about my cat - just a plain black moggie but I think she's sweet!

Have added the other two if anyone's interested!

Sparkling - just looked at your lovely grey cat. Beautiful girl. There's a grey cat near me and it always bemuses me that even their noses are grey!

As this is a "mad cat lady" type of thread, can I ask if anyone else can't walk down the street without having to try and entice any cat they spot over for a stroke and a fuss ? ..... I'll happily cross the road if I spot a cat!

Sparklingbrook · 16/03/2013 21:20

I do that cats. Stood in the street squeaking at any poor feline i see in case it wants to come home with me.

All 3 cats are beautiful and fab photos of them. Smile

QueenStromba · 16/03/2013 21:22

You should volunteer at a cat rescue taking photos of the cats for the website. Those are really great photos. And gorgeous cats too.

Great photos cats Smile and yes to making a beeline for any cat when I'm out Grin

I just HAVE to fuss them! When I was a kid I managed to always find stray dogs and take them home - then my dad would make me take them to the police station!! I was on first name terms with the local police Shock

QueenStromba · 17/03/2013 20:09

I found some puppies and kittens when I was a kid too. I was always really upset that I didn't get to keep any of them.
