I got into the habit of checking it every day when we were looking for our girl. We've had her a week now but I can't stop myself from looking at it every day even though we definitely don't want another cat (not now anyway). I think I just like it when they get marked as rehomed. There are a couple of cats who are still there from when I started looking over a month ago and it makes me sad that they still haven't found someone to love them.

Aren't they cute?

I found some puppies and kittens when I was a kid too. I was always really upset that I didn't get to keep any of them.

Great photos cats Smile and yes to making a beeline for any cat when I'm out Grin

I just HAVE to fuss them! When I was a kid I managed to always find stray dogs and take them home - then my dad would make me take them to the police station!! I was on first name terms with the local police Shock

You should volunteer at a cat rescue taking photos of the cats for the website. Those are really great photos. And gorgeous cats too.

Thanks everyone for the compliments about my cat - just a plain black moggie but I think she's sweet!

Have added the other two if anyone's interested!

Sparkling - just looked at your lovely grey cat. Beautiful girl. There's a grey cat near me and it always bemuses me that even their noses are grey!

As this is a "mad cat lady" type of thread, can I ask if anyone else can't walk down the street without having to try and entice any cat they spot over for a stroke and a fuss ? ..... I'll happily cross the road if I spot a cat!

Oh I do this too. And I like looking at the 'Happy Endings' pages to see lots of lovely pussies lolling around on people's beds and sofas looking totally spoilt.

What makes me laugh about the Battersea pages are the issues some of the cats have. A while ago there was one that couldn't have stairs, other cats, children, or where the new owners had jobs or went on holiday. An impractical cat. That's hilarious.

God help me! I have spent 2 hours cruising cats on rescue sites and now on pets4homes.......... must stop but desperate for cats. Stunned that people charge £150 for a moggy kitten in France they give them away!!!!!!!!

So relieved to hear it isn't only me. I stalk the Celia Hammond pages because they often tell you a little bit about the cat's history. The have lots of cats with one eye, one leg, etc and I always want to have them all. If DH catches me looking he just gives me one of his special looks (we already have two moggies) and that's enough of a reality check!

Sparkling Cat doesn't catch birds. We get tiny voles and grass-snakes.

Ha ha - I do this too. Have had all my cats from Wood Green over the past 16 years and now live very close to one of their branches so it's not just looking on their site - which I often do - but also "popping in" on a regular basis. In fact, it's my black cat here: www.woodgreen.org.uk/pet_advice/632_multi-cat_households when she was a kitten (obviously).

It's really sad to see the same cats "stuck" at the home though for months on end. Especially as it's so often the black ones. As for not photographing well, there's a picture of what that kitten looks like now on my profile. I wish more people would consider them.
