To want to put something disgusting in the milk

ariane5 · 14/03/2013 23:15

For the past 3 weeks somebody has stolen the 2 pints I get delivered from my doorstep each friday.

Iam so tempted to mix something horrible in with the half a pint I have in fridge, stick lid back on neatly and put it out for the morning.

AIBU

Can we have an update OP?
Hope you didn't oversleep after all the excitement??

Tee2072 · 15/03/2013 07:56

Well?

50ShadesOfGreggs · 15/03/2013 08:07

I NEED to know what happened OP!

NewAtThisMalarky · 15/03/2013 08:09

I've got to leave for work soon, hurry up op!

djelibeybi · 15/03/2013 08:13

I'd be wary of spiking the milk, you could end up in court:-

Maybe some oven-cleaner on the bottle so they end up with blistered hands.

PurplePidjin · 15/03/2013 08:21

Huh?!

ariane5 · 15/03/2013 08:25

I got up at 445am, I waited and waited, milk was delivered at 532 am and....

Nobody stole it

So now I am very tired for no good reason! Bit of an anticlimax really, I was all set to make a citizens arrest!

MechanicalTheatre · 15/03/2013 08:30

Hmm. Well, that's annoying, but at least you have a lovely pint o' milk for your breakfast!

ariane5 · 15/03/2013 08:33

Feel a bit stupid now for getting up so early for nothing !

Sorry for delay in update, dcs were all up at 645am and it was chaos (as usual)

Tee2072 · 15/03/2013 08:37

OMG they are a MNetter on this thread!!!!

ChocolateCoins · 15/03/2013 08:38

Are you going to get up early again next Friday?

Nittynana · 15/03/2013 08:38

Perhaps the thief read this thread and realised their number was up!

ariane5 · 15/03/2013 08:42

Iam tempted to let a pint go off and keep it for next friday just to see if they come back!

Maybe they will take monday or wednesdays milk instead? I can see myself going mad over this and getting up early 3 times a week or setting up cameras!

Maybe I should just get my milk from the shops instead and avoid the stress!

I have a bad eye too from squinting out of the spy hole in door for hours my eyelid keeps twitching!

OP posts:
SPBInDisguise · 15/03/2013 08:44

So do we think the thief is an mner?

monkeyfacegrace · 15/03/2013 08:48

Nooo, no time to read the thread, but dont sabotage the milk!

What if somebody gives it to a child/baby Sad

ariane5 · 15/03/2013 08:57

Don't worry, I didn't put anything in it and it didn't get taken anyway!

OP posts:
ImTooHecsyForYourParty · 15/03/2013 08:58

did you have any lights on?

If the house had any lights on or signs of movement, that'll be why.

ArbitraryUsername · 15/03/2013 08:59

Something disgusting in the milk doesn't necessarily mean dangerous though (not that the OP has tampered with any milk). Adding some garlic essence, for example, is not going to be toxic but it would make the milk taste pretty horrible.

MrsMushroom · 15/03/2013 08:59

Get a milk safe.

ariane5 · 15/03/2013 09:00

Only upstairs landing light but that's always on so no different to last few weeks

MrsMushroom · 15/03/2013 09:01

I agree with Monkey. it's a sad sign of the times. People are poor. growing up in the 70s on a council estate, it was routine for the poorest families to send an older child out to rob a pint of milk from someone else.

Kids were regularly caught at it.

ariane5 · 15/03/2013 09:05

We are poor but I wouldn't steal milk!

I am annoyed it was stolen for 3 weeks but if it had been for somebodys dcs then I can live with that (just hope they don't take it again!)

DinglebertWangledack · 15/03/2013 09:12

Thing is though if you have kids under a certain age or are pregnant etc, you can get those healthy start vouchers for buying it! How hard is it to go to the shop? I've got borderline SPD and I still limpgo to the shop 15 mins away!

CajaDeLaMemoria · 15/03/2013 09:15

As others have said, be very very careful before putting anything at all in the milk. It is very likely to lead to trouble... Even off milk could cause quite serious problems if it was stolen and drank by a young child.

You could alert the community police down your way? Or buy a milk locker, or get the milk man to hide the milk down the side of the house or something. It's terrible, but poisoning isn't the answer.
