Did you do check & send via the Post Office? You may have some recourse if you did.

diddl · 06/03/2013 13:57

That sounds awful.

I think it's terrible having to send such documents through the post.

So, if you ticked the box to say that it was included-they are effectively calling you a liar!

I've applied for 3 passports in the past 2 months and haven't had a problem. One was a first passport for DS with birth certificate included. I was quite pleased about the quick service too. Maybe it was just bad luck?

auntpetunia · 06/03/2013 14:54

I agree with fakebook DDs passport came back within 8 days though it was a renewal. Never had any problem

fluffyraggies · 06/03/2013 15:04

Sorry to hear this OP.

I don't know why they cant do something like visually check the documents for you at a post office and then give you a personal code number to include in your application, proving these documents have been seen and checked, rather than send them through the post.

youfhearted · 06/03/2013 15:11

did you not send it special delivery?

youfhearted · 06/03/2013 15:11

anyway i doubt you woudl ahve to pay again,
you just need anotehr birth certificate, you can get one from register of births deaths and marriages, local registry office i imagine.

youfhearted · 06/03/2013 15:12

perhaps they are looking for your son with the wrong spelling?
cna you ring them?

AnnoyingOrange · 06/03/2013 15:12

Did you send a short birth certificate? You need to send a full one
