It's all very lovely but it is such shocking timing when you've been awake for too many hours and hoping to be in bed by 8.

If you catch a dear little squidgy pink baby at 7.20. Then you have to wait for a placenta. Then cuddle. The write it all down coherently and legibly.

So if you could get it done an hour or so before 7 that would be super. Thanks.

7pm not good either. Then You get shoved out and sent home, tired, hurt and bewildered at 2 am Shock that's brutal. Nothing seems good at 2am especially new parenthood

So a case of DON'T call the midwife!

I had my little cutie at 5.05am. No one else on the ward and I had everyone else's breakfasts. Happy days.

He was Taggie but he wasn't really cooked. I had the flu and I think he bailed out early because he was sick of the coughing. Grin

DD showed up at 4.19pm and DS 2.56am. Awkward timing???? Possibly. But personally I was past caring by then and was offering cash to DD to come out already Grin

He wasn't cute and squidgy either, he was early, jaundiced and very pissed off.

Turned out OK though.

Lunchtime is most civilised. But only if you get a full night sleep beforehand. Then home for tea.

I had my third at 06:25am. Can't remember with my first two, is that bad? I can't even remember if it was morning or evening, sure it must be written down somewhere Hmm.

I was particularly good then 10.37am and left to go home at 2.30 :)

I had mine at 8.30am. As it was a home birth, I ended up with three lovely midwives, as one had just arrived to start her shift and two were already there. I ate all the NHS's resources for a bit.

Hmm, well I waited until just after 8.00, after giving the new midwife and trainee time to settle in. I didn't see them until after the birth, as I had my eyes shut, facing the wall.

Makes me wonder if the first midwife had a plan - she thought dd was going to appear by 7.30 but kept leaving the room 'just to check / tell someone something' etc. It really stressed me and slowed me down, as I didn't want to get to a really crucial point when she wasn't there. The result was that, by the time I needed to push, contractions were only every five minutes and diminishing. Not impressed by her.

I didn't get to hospital until just after 7:30am on a friday morning, had an EMCS 2hrs later. Consultant "ooo, we were having a boring morning until you turned up" Smile.

DS2 was at 11:52pm. I was told not to press the buzzer and try not to push cos they were busy. I was out of it on gas and air, and my body pushed during the MW checks.unfortunately my waters hadn't broken and the whole thing exploded in the MW face. She screamed and grabbed a pad to stem the flow. 2 minutes later DS2 was born looking for food! I wondered why the MW had wet hair.....then it dawned on me later! Lol!

I had my 3 at 22:50, 12:30 and 22:46 . The midwife with DS3 was pleased, she thought I'd be there all night even though I told her I'd have him in 2 hours.
