Utmost sympathy, this happened to me too on a Friday and the bank refused to return it as it wasn't my bank. Didn't even get to put my pin in. It just swallowed it. Glunk.

Are you sure you haven't received a new bank card in teh post and the one you have used is out of date? That's what happened to dh!

Argh for you. The one at our local garage does this all the time. They have to call out the engineer and even then they won't give it back to you

Just found out it had expired and normally they sent out a card in advance..but not to me this time. Loosers!

It happend to me last Friday my card was slightly bent (washing machine) but other machines were fine with it and after the runner tried for two minutes to eject it it swallowed it instead.

Can you get to a bank quickly and get some cash?

Possibility the card could have gone walkies in the post....keep a close eye on your statement.

If you can get to a branch you'll be able to withdraw money with your account number and I.D. I'd ask them if one was sent out, if so they will need to cancel that one (in case it has been taken) and order another one.

Oh I had this they hadn't sent out s replacement card. I had to go into the bank to withdraw money as I was going away for the weekend, they checked the system and for some reason a new card hadn't been sent out... They were aapologetic but it was a pits for a week until my new card arrived!
