Please help me! I am 34 under and 44 over. Where do I start?

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/03/2013 21:31

With a 34GG :)

I didn't read the whole thread, so this question may already have been asked: i don't have much left after BF 2 DC, so if I do the forward bend, it's like two tennis balls in stretchy socks...
I'm 31 under and 38 over, currently a 36C - if I go for a bigger cup won't it all puddle at the bottom of the cup? Grin

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/03/2013 21:36

There is a balancing act with emptier breasts and you may find you take a slightly smaller cup than you measure, but you will be far more uplifted by the right size I promise. Try a 30F/FF

Still can't find a bra thats comfy at the top of my underarm, the lady in Debenhams measured me again and had me try on lot's of bras and confirmed that 32F is the right size for me, she thinks that my problem is that because I've been in the wrong size (36/38c) for so long, that it's going to take a few months to get used to the 32. Have to say that she was fantastic and I did wonder if she'd been trained by statistically or sorrel as she parroted everything that has been said about bra fitting on these threads lol!

Have a massive order in my basket at my curves and me, are they any good?

magpie2 · 04/03/2013 21:43

[shocked]?!!! Seriously going shopping tomorrow. Can't wait to try on an F. An F!!! Thanks S!

magpie2 · 04/03/2013 21:45

32 under
40 over

Currently bursting out of a 32F with quadboob and ridges. Do I need to go up a waistband?

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/03/2013 21:58

NOOOOO quadraboob=up in the cup. Did you measure overbust with bra on or off and leaning over?

OP posts:
EuroShopperEnergyDrink · 04/03/2013 21:59

off and leaning over

EuroShopperEnergyDrink · 04/03/2013 22:00

Was 'fitted' as opposed to measured into a 32F in HoF

M&S try and put me in a 32E/34DD

Shodan · 04/03/2013 22:00

Any help getting a decent bra would be appreciated here- I currently wear Genie bras because I've found underwired ones so uncomfortable. Having read this thread though, I'm starting to wonder if it's just because I've never got the right size!

So. 32.5 under, 38.5 over. What should I be looking for? Also they're a bit empty-sockish too- is there a particular style I should look out for? Or just keep trying different styles?

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/03/2013 22:00

On measurements alone a 32FF, but by description it sounds like you will be someone who needs a bigger cup than they "measure" so I would try at least a 32G and probably a 32GG too

OP posts:
HuffleWitch · 04/03/2013 22:00

Ok. My turn. I measured at roughly 34/42. Figured from here I should be about a 34G. Went to Triumph today and she tried to put me in a 36DD. I asked for a smaller band and larger cup size. Tried a few 34s, and every a 32. They didn't have the 32G so have to order it in for me. None felt right. The 32 was hard to do up, and I find it very hard to believe I wouldn't have a big red welt from it, no matter the cup size... Sorry to be Hmm. Blush.

My biggest problem is when bras stick in under the front of the arms. The top/side of the cups, not the band. I know I have dreadful posture and the correct solution would be to stand up straighter... But is this a size issue, a pick another style issue, or a you really need to fix your posture issue?

If it's style, can anyone suggest good nursing bras that are low-cut around the outside of the cups, but still provide good support?

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/03/2013 22:01

Shodan, try a 32E/F to start with. A balcony is a good base style but you will find different shapes and styles work for you.

EuroShopperEnergyDrink · 04/03/2013 22:03

Fuming. Just forked out 32 quid on a new bra in 32F :( seemed okay under the nice lights of the changing room, but just it's now killing me now I need to wear it as opposed to try it on.

Can anyone suggest a place where I can get a discount bras in 32FF/32G that don't look like scaffolding with granny wide straps and back?

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/03/2013 22:04

the arms are a bit of all 3 - some bras are lower than others there, if you have been wearing the wrong size your skin won't be used to it and it's postural too. But a good bra will improve that!

If they didn't have a big enough cup then the back will have felt artificially tight but based on measurements a 34 could be the size for you. How did the 34 feel?

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 04/03/2013 22:06

:( EuroShopper. Try Leia, Brastop, Mycurvesandme, crazyclearance, debenhams..

Good grief! Really? 32E/F!!

Um. That might explain a few things...

Thank you so much.

HuffleWitch · 04/03/2013 22:16

The 34 band is probably right, just need to find a style that's comfy to be able to assess the best cupsize. Unfortunately there's no shops where I live that have any decent ranges of nursing bras. Envy

marriednotdead · 04/03/2013 22:34

HuffleWitch It would be worth trying Hotmilk, Panache and Freya nursing bras. I doubt you would find any of the Royce styles comfortable though.

HuffleWitch · 04/03/2013 22:35

Great to know. Thanks!
