We filled a thread, so here's another!

Oops, did you try it back to front? You any really test the band the right way round as the cups distort the fit (if they're too small)

OrangeLily · 01/03/2013 23:48

Tooextraimmature cheddar. Bravissimo in Edinburgh is brilliant and is now all upstairs if u hadn't been in recently. They've been fab for me!

I have someone at my work too I really want to wrangle in to a decent bra. Looks like two rugby balls down there and just looks so uncomfortable. Won't actually say anything though Smile

DoubleLifeIsALifeHalved · 01/03/2013 23:50

Right, am buying some now! Eek, I can't believe I am buying this size :)

Oooh I hope one fits, am buying 5 so I can have a good chance of finding one success.

marriednotdead · 01/03/2013 23:54

How can you NOT say anything? I'd have to!

I met with some friends recently and one had a bit of double boobage going on. She sighed when I looked pointedly at her and said 'I can't believe I forgot to wear my good bra- I knew I was coming out with the bra police' Grin

SorrelForbes · 01/03/2013 23:57

I do a lot of am-dram (totally outing myself now) and am always nagging the other dancers to get new bras. During the last show I measured 20+ girls. Most of whom were about a 28E! They looked like this Shock

marriednotdead · 01/03/2013 23:58

Yay Double! Do report back, we need to know we're getting it right.

I AM going to bed now. It's nearly Saturday and I have an arduous shift ahead.

marriednotdead · 02/03/2013 00:00

Sorrel You ARE me, aren't you Grin

SorrelForbes · 02/03/2013 00:09

Possibly Wink

HeffaFlump · 02/03/2013 00:17

Hope advice is still been given as I've never had a proper fitting bra , just taken measurements unsure whether correctly though
36 under & 53 on the biggest part
Currently in a 38hh

marriednotdead · 02/03/2013 00:30

Still here... Blush

HeffaFlump That's looking like a 36L from where I'm sitting. Before I say more, what bra brand/style are you currently in?

HeffaFlump · 02/03/2013 00:34

in one from debenhams , I've never heard of that size Sad

lookoveryourshouldernow · 02/03/2013 00:47

...unless someone has already mentioned it - when is the iphone "Size Me" app coming out ???? I would buy it !!!!

marriednotdead · 02/03/2013 00:50

Don't panic!
I'd suggest trying either Alana in a 36L or Tango in a 36K.
The third option which I won't link to for now is the Panache Jasmine, probably in a 36K.

They all give different shapes and you may find one style suits you better than the other. However, for really big boobs, they are the the best on the market at the moment in terms of fit and support.

Although two of the styles only go to K when I've said L, they fit quite differently and may actually work better.

HeffaFlump · 02/03/2013 01:06

Thanks married I will have a try

SyraCusa · 02/03/2013 01:25

Just wanted to emerge from lurking on these threads, to give Thanks to the really helpful people spending so much time posting advice.

Not just for the better-endowed ladies! I've been wearing a 34B since I was a teenager. Realised I'd put on at least two stone matured in the last 15 years, and getting uncomfortable, bought a couple of 36Bs. Still not great, riding up all the time, no more support than a vest top.

Seeing these threads inspired me to measure myself (with a metal DIY measure, all I had in the house Blush), and got 35/40, so with the info and feedback from SC, Sorrel, Celtic and others, thought worth going into Bravissimo to get fitted for the first time in my life. Came home with 3 bras, a 34D and two 34DDs (!), and I can't say how much better I feel and look! These ones actually do something, instead of just sitting there. Thanks to SC's tips on scooping, I now know the bits bulging out of the sides and bottom are breast tissue, and can be comfortably filling out my bra instead of suffering from digging-in wires.

Thank you ladies - your advice made me realise even us smaller-chested benefit from a good bra!

KeatsiePie · 02/03/2013 05:55

Sorrel thanks again. I am so excited. Love hearing back from everyone who's had a chance to go out and get lovely, properly-fitting new bras!

pnin · 02/03/2013 07:38

i've spent hours reading this fascinating!

i have bras ranging from 34-32 dd -e but they're never quite right, apart from my amazing anita breastfeeding bras.

i'm a 29 under with 36/37 boobs. i've lost loads of fullness from 2 pregnancies and 5 years breastfeeding and going from a size 14 to a 6-8!

that make me a 30e or f or 28f?

i feel an internet splurge coming on. any ercommendations? avoid plunge bras?

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 07:44

Pnin yes, that's the place to start!,

MrsHelsBels74 · 02/03/2013 07:46

I am still determined to find the time to find a bra that fits. But I'm still flummoxed by the back fat thing.

SorrelForbes · 02/03/2013 07:59

It does sound somewhat counterintuitive to cure back fat by wearing a smaller band, but as long as the cups are big enough (and the scooping is vigorous) then it does work. I would have massive back fat in a 34DD but have none in a 30GG.

Claudiecat · 02/03/2013 08:10

Can I just add my thanks to all the ladies giving advice? I've been lurking on the thread and last night I had a total lightbulb moment! I've noticed over the years that my bras aren't really supporting me, they just sit there. I'm currently wearing a 36B. Since I started wearing that size I've suffered from awful shoulder/ back ache on my right hand side. I've even developed a groove on my shoulder. Have never connected the two until now!!! Dur!!!
Measured myself last night: 32 under, 37/38 over.
Is that a 32F? Can't get my head round it.
Thanks in anticipation.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/03/2013 08:11

Hi ClaudieCat! Yes, I would suggest you start with a 32F and a 32FF and work from there.

OP posts:
Claudiecat · 02/03/2013 08:14

Thank you Statistically. My sisters will laugh their socks off when I tell them but I shall spread the word, then see who's laughing.

marriednotdead · 02/03/2013 08:16

pnin Try a Cleo Juna in a 28F and FF. And yes, if you're very soft, plunges will not work well, you'll overflow in the centre whilst having space in the top of the cups.

Morning Sorrel Grin

marriednotdead · 02/03/2013 08:24

Morning to you too SC Smile

Looks like we all have a busy day ahead.

I may return here late tonight, probably with hot feet and a fried brain!
