Flouncing - you are right. The Hide button is very useful. Smile

CK is a right bundle of laughs.

MarmaladeTwatkins · 28/02/2013 20:55

She meant xenophobic. Welsh are not a race separate from White British so unless you can be racist against your own race, which actually I suppose you technically can be, I bery much doubt that OP was being racist.

AnyFucker · 28/02/2013 20:56

I have no opinion on London areas to live

I don't like those doors though, and I am not keen on the house style of decor

very try-hard

i live in an almost identical house (without the awful decor and doors) with all original features, fireplaces, parquet flooring, tiled hall. Three double beds, large garden. Within walking distance of small town, within walking distance of countryside. Outstanding primary school catchment, local high schools are single sex and both outstanding.

10 mins from M6...fast rail to London 1hr40mins

yours for £125,000

not selling....

MarmaladeTwatkins · 28/02/2013 21:04

Yes, you can be xenophobic about Londoners. You can be xenophobic about any group of persons/any place that you deem to be weird/alien because of cultural differences.

Don't worry ice I'm sure it's fine.

It could be worse I'm English, living in Wales, working in London and now I'm confused as to whether to be offended, whether dividing doors are good or bad and where I can get my own personal sheep :(

MarmaladeTwatkins · 28/02/2013 21:07

"And, as an aside, I really hate posters who say "I reported your post and it was deleted, so nyer". It pisses me right orf."

YES.

Is there anything smugger than "MN agree with meeeee so THERE"? I think not.

MNHQ seem quite twitchy about contentious posts nowadays. That is their prerogative really. People take things out of context (case in point^), so I can see why they'd rather avoid all the hoo-haa. Doesn't mean that MNHQ are taking your side. Just probably means they'd rather avoid aggro'/twenty billionty reports.

countrykitten · 28/02/2013 21:08

Not sure that the English have Celtic roots but I may be wrong. Well, at least I have learned that it's ok to be offensive to a whole nation (and thus my nationality) on MN. It's not xenophobic to suggest that a whole nation of people engage in bestiality (very fucking funny) - it's downright offensive, juvenile stupidity.

Viviennemary · 28/02/2013 21:08

Oh Wow. Great house. It doesn't seem so expensive for London. Not that I know much about London prices these days. I love the bathroom.

countrykitten · 28/02/2013 21:09

But as you say - best to hide a thread started by an offensive idiot with poor taste in housing.

Viviennemary · 28/02/2013 21:10

Oh dear I wasn't meant to like it was I. But I do. Grin

MarmaladeTwatkins · 28/02/2013 21:12

Is Celt a race? I thought that Celt was indicative of culture rather than being a racial group.

I am happy to be told I am wrong, though.

countrykitten - I think you'll find I'm an offensive idiot with poor taste in room dividing doors, not housing per se.

You, otoh, appear to be charming.

Given that England itself used to be multiple countries (Wessex, Mercia etc all with their own kings) and that the majority of us are probably descended from Romans, Vikings & Gauls we could be here for months discussing internal racism if we wanted to get pedantic.

My friend has lived in Plumbstead for 10 years quite happily with no issues. Personally I'd rather liver on that side of London than the SW/Surrey borders areas, but then I'm half Cockney/half Eat Croydon so I guess I'm biased!

FWIW the doors aren't my thing, but I can see why people would like them. Grin

flatbread · 28/02/2013 21:34

Electrical, where are you?

Moominsarescary · 28/02/2013 21:48

I've been reading this thread since early afternoon and only just looked at the link Grin I like it
