I am so angry, as a children's nurse in Cornwall, I feel absolutely saddened and disgusted that this is my local authority, this has made me cry.

A councillor who said disabled children "should be put down" because they cost too much is considering his future.

Yes I guess council tax shouldn't be linked, but when I see cuts in local authority services such as respite, family support workers, social care and OTs directly affecting these families while this utter cock keeps his job and expenses, I see red!

I saw this earlier as a parent of a disabled child I hope he gets sacked he shouldnt have to resign and the stupid apology is beyond arrogant predjudiced wankstain.

The Disability Group he said it to have asked that comments are made to Cornwall Council instead of to him (so that it does not appear like a "hate campaign" towards him).

I think they are probably right - to put the pressure on the council might be more effective and he should not be put in a position where he can claim to be the victim and fudge the actual issue here.

Thanks Shifting for the link. Please could EVERYONE sign the epetition get this vile individual sacked, there are not nearly enough signatures yet. How come he gets to choose whether or not to resign? If he had said that a certain ethnic group or members of a specific sexual persuasion should be 'eliminated' his position would be untenable & he would be long gone. WHY is this not regarded in the same light? Are the disabled fair game? As the parent of a disabled child, I am begging you to stand up for the rights of the disabled. All decent individuals esp parents will do so.
