To think I should complain about mice in my holiday lodge?

I have just returned from a holiday in a lodge in Sherwood Forest. When we arrived there was a mouse in the lodge. I complained and they installed traps and sonic deterrents. Yesterday we saw another mouse in the bathroom so we went home a day early. Mice running around inside totally freak me out. I would have left on the first day if it wasn't for the fact that the kids would not have forgiven me for ending the holiday. The mice made me feel on edge the whole time I was the.

As the lodge was in a wood, I am wondering whether mice is what I should I expect or whether a formal complaint to the holiday company is in order.

We've stayed in lodges a number of times and I have never seen a mouse inside. As you say I suppose it is a side effect of staying in a forest. No harm in complaining though if only to make sure they put up more traps and deterrents round the place.

I couldn't move lodges as it was fully booked. I kept the place impeccably clean and the mouse was in the place as we arrived for the first time.

Now, a badger inside a lodge would have been quite exciting Wink

Difficult one, I'd feel the same but it sort of goes with the territory. We discovered one late in a week at a farm cottage, behind the fridge and when I got suitcases out to pack from under a bed in kids' room there was a tablet (not ours) with tooth marks too. It had seemed clean on arrival but ...

I wonder if they could have made more effort with blocking up the holes. The one in the bathroom was getting out via a gap between the wall and the shower cubicle.

YABU. Mice need a holiday too Wink

How much did the mice pay? was it per head or did it have it's own room?

WhatKindofFool · 22/02/2013 16:33

Eeeek! The mice were having a free holiday. They used up 2 rooms and didn't pay a penny. I think I need a rebate considering I shared my accommodation with unpaying guests.
