would stop showing pictures of him?
I'm sick of seeing his grinning face leering out of every report of his revolting activities.

YANBU. I've been thinking that too.
Can't imagine what it is like for one of his victims every time.

It's the grin, isn't it? Much more sinister than the kind of pictures we're usually shown of offenders. And another thing. I'm sick to the back teeth of the whole thing being referred to as a 'scandal', as though it's backyard gossip. Totally trivialises the experiences of the victims.

Sallyingforth · 22/02/2013 11:05

That grin seems to be saying, "Aren't I clever, I'm getting away with it all and you think I'm wonderful".
We do not need the face.

I wish they'd stop playing the clip where he gets a pair of binoculars out and pretends to look out from the TV, especially as I always seem to be bfing when it comes on.

InkleWinkle · 22/02/2013 22:01

I've just seen the news headlines & they're doing it again.

SkinnybitchWannabe · 22/02/2013 22:32

YADNBU. Ive thought the same for a long time. Unfortunately we all know what the vile scumbag looks like so we don't need reminding every time there's a news story about the creep.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 22/02/2013 22:34

YANBU

I am also getting pissed off with all the 'oh yes everyone knew what was going on' type info - e.g. today's comments from Paxman.

If everyone knew, then why the fuck was nothing being said?? Angry

My Mum was tangentially involved in TV in the 80s. The line she believed was that yes, there was gossip about Savile 'being too fond of children' but that 'he had it under control'. Can't believe she fell for it - but she didn't have any evidence, had never met the bloke, was just gossip doing the rounds. She says in those days people knew there were paedophiles but thought it was much rarer than it seems to be now there is more openness about crimes against children.
