It's the grin, isn't it? Much more sinister than the kind of pictures we're usually shown of offenders. And another thing. I'm sick to the back teeth of the whole thing being referred to as a 'scandal', as though it's backyard gossip. Totally trivialises the experiences of the victims.

That grin seems to be saying, "Aren't I clever, I'm getting away with it all and you think I'm wonderful".
We do not need the face.

I wish they'd stop playing the clip where he gets a pair of binoculars out and pretends to look out from the TV, especially as I always seem to be bfing when it comes on.

My Mum was tangentially involved in TV in the 80s. The line she believed was that yes, there was gossip about Savile 'being too fond of children' but that 'he had it under control'. Can't believe she fell for it - but she didn't have any evidence, had never met the bloke, was just gossip doing the rounds. She says in those days people knew there were paedophiles but thought it was much rarer than it seems to be now there is more openness about crimes against children.
