Hello ladies

I'm a first time poster but looong time lurker and I can't believe I'm creating my first thread in this of all topics.

So, I'm a member of another mums' forum, I post there fairly regularly as it's a much smaller forum and not as daunting as this one. Blush A fresh mum posted a thread recounting her experience of waking up in the middle of the night, paralysed and hearing whispers. Other posters joined in with their own experiences of sleep paralysis or night seizures and then a regular poster (so not a troll) actually suggested that she was being attacked by demons and that sleep paralysis was just an invented name because scientists don't want to admit that demons exist!

Now, I have a close family member suffering from night seizures and feel that comments like that are unacceptable. On the other hand the woman that posted that is 32 weeks pregnant so I really shouldn't upset her. But I'm shaking with rage. Should I just let it go?

going on past experience, people like that just wont be told that they might be a wee bit wrong and you will end up winding yourself up more trying to introduce a bit of logic or even worse, scientifically proven facts. save your energy and stay here instead Smile

Grin Attacked by demons? sounds plausible if you are a total fruit loop.

I have a sleep dr friend, and I don't think they are at a loss to explain these things. If that lady thinks they are demons, you're not going to change her mind. Believe me, folks who believe in the supernatural are hard to convince otherwise.
