In the queue of a cafe where there are lots of signs asking people to show consoderation at busy times about sitting down before ordering at last three people blatantly sit at the remaining tables whilst i and others arw qaiting to be served.

Aibu to have said very loudly so that one part of the offending party that it was very selfish of people. The. Sales assistant said she had told people about this before and was shouted at.

I was made to wait for a table simply because people were being selfish.
Aibu?

I love these threads- they turn up every few weeks! No one changes their minds.
I can't see a problem. If I am with someone we get a table first- I don't want food or drink without a table. If I am on my own and can't do it I simply find a space with another loan person and sit there- no one has ever objected.
The thing that really irritates me are lots of people cluttering a queue when it isn't necessary- and children are in the way and a danger- park them at a table first!

Bowlersarm · 21/02/2013 17:14

.......or someone hopefully shoving them to one side whilst they themselves sat down with their food they had just paid for

MrsKeithRichards · 21/02/2013 17:14

You've been warned, don't get her started Grin

Feelingood · 21/02/2013 17:15

sparkling yes as long as you don't pee on the seat or leave skids Blush

Latara · 21/02/2013 17:16

Are we on the bus or in a cafe or in the toilet now? Confused

Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2013 17:16

I think we should all stay in. Cafes, toilets, buses, parking. It's all too complicated. I'm sure it wasn't until I joined MN.

MrsKeithRichards · 21/02/2013 17:18

I seen 3 adults do that in IKEA cafe once. A girl of about 7 sitting at a table, 3 adults sat round her, hemming her in really. I thought nothing of it until her mum came back. I thought the adults that done that were rude as fuck and mean putting the girl in that position. I bet she was worried and not sure what to do.

Latara · 21/02/2013 17:19

Parking as well?? I'm off, i need another Brew to forget this thread! Grin

ifancyashandy · 21/02/2013 17:19

As I said up thread, I often don't have a bag / coat with me so can't secure a table that way...

And share?!? With you 'orrible lot?! And your kids?! There's a reason I don't have children you know Grin

(and yes, for those that are unable to detect irony, my tongue is firmly in my cheek. Kinda.)

Latara · 21/02/2013 17:21

Oh sod it i'm back. Can't believe how mean some people can be to children, MrsKeithRichards

Calabria · 21/02/2013 17:23

You can't use the loo at our local Costa without buying something as the door is locked and the code to open it is printed on the receipt. Tough if you want a wee before queuing.

Allthingspretty · 21/02/2013 17:24

Well as someone without children i look forward toout manouvering all of you who get your children to keep seats. Mwah mwah

Latara · 21/02/2013 17:30

I think cafes should be like in Amsterdam where cats lie on bars & people are more, er chilled out.

Latara · 21/02/2013 17:31

And there should be lots of toilets everywhere for everyone to go without queuing (or is it queueing).

Allthingspretty · 21/02/2013 17:32

Latara i know. I have seen and hward people call their kids little shits and c°°°s. Shocked doeant even explain it

Costa

Latara · 21/02/2013 17:33

In fact cafes should be like in the olden days when my Mum was little & they all had waitress service. That would solve the table issue. And create jobs. Problem solved.

BegoniaBampot · 21/02/2013 17:33

Yip, or Paris where the cat was actually lying across the cutlery tray which the customers helped themselves to.

Allthingspretty · 21/02/2013 17:35

Not rude to get your table first, just common sense. Why would everyone need to queue?
If i was 'told off' for saving a table i wouldnt go there again.
