In the queue of a cafe where there are lots of signs asking people to show consoderation at busy times about sitting down before ordering at last three people blatantly sit at the remaining tables whilst i and others arw qaiting to be served.

Aibu to have said very loudly so that one part of the offending party that it was very selfish of people. The. Sales assistant said she had told people about this before and was shouted at.

I was made to wait for a table simply because people were being selfish.

Good lord I have been on here long enough to know not to go within a mile of the disabled loo All. Grin

I think using the loo at Costa without buying any of their overpriced, slowly made beverages is a whole other thread.

Feelingood · 21/02/2013 16:47

Well my local costa has a loo for all, most smaller ones do, everybody shares funny that.

There is a women who frequents my local costa who is known to all staff and regulars as when she goes in the loo she is I there for a long time, the staff time her, once she was in there for forty minutes. If I see her about I dive in there with my dd and do nappy and squeeze a piddle out!

Otherwise people walk over to boots to use their loo then come back to costa.

If a certain table is free in costa I grab it as it easier to get pushchair in and feed dd, but only if there a re plenty for other people if there is a busy q, I wouldn't do it so people ahead of me would not be able to find a seat otherwise.

Feelingood · 21/02/2013 16:48

I was at a large shopping centre with my three children and went to the food area, lots of fast food places and tables and chairs in the middle. it was heaving but i managed to get a table. Left the 9 year old and went with the 11 year old to kfc and sent the 14 year old to McDonalds. Sent them both back to the 9 year old once I had ordered, we were gone for 5 minutes and in that time a man had taken one of the chairs and the 9 year old was upset thinking i would be angry.

I know that I should not have left the little one by himself and should not let one get KFC and the others McDonalds, but I didn't think someone would just take/borrow a chair without asking!

Dont get me started on children having a seat on public transport when adults are standing....

Re: loos - if you gotta go, you gotta go.

Re: children seated on buses etc when adults are standing - is this actually relevant?? If so well, personally i have no problem with a child sitting down while i stand.

Back to the cafe issue - i haven't been for a coffee today dammit & feel well mardy about that. Havin a Brew of tea instead.... that's better.!!

FunnysInLaJardin · 21/02/2013 17:04

why All? doncha like that either? I don't use public transport personally, except planes, but my DC would get a seat ahead of an adult if they were there first

Rufus43 · 21/02/2013 17:06

Having said that, if there was a sign saying no seat saving and it was busy I would just leave....I am such a goodie goodie

FunnysInLaJardin · 21/02/2013 17:06

you don't half get het up about a lot of inconsequential stuff All

ifancyashandy · 21/02/2013 17:06

Still unclear as to what people alone are supposed to do. Surely the fact they have no option but to queue first, secure table after indicates that the ^^ system everyone else does is flawed?

Allthingspretty · 21/02/2013 17:06

Like i said. Dont get me started

Funny, I would probably give up my seat for a child on a bus if it was too big to sit on mum's knee or their were several children, funny old world.

Sirzy · 21/02/2013 17:08

People alone can find a seat generally. There is no reason that someone alone can't spot a group of 3 sat at a table for 4 and use that extra space.

It is much harder for a larger group to do that.

TattyDevine · 21/02/2013 17:08

Maybe I'm a cunt, but if my child has paid for a ticket and they were there before an adult, they can sit there in my opinion. If they are not paying, different story but I'd rather stand myself than have them flopping all over the place annoying the shit out of everyone.

Allthingspretty · 21/02/2013 17:08

Funny i do i do

ifancy - you could go and dump your coat and any bags at a table if you are on your own.

Allthingspretty · 21/02/2013 17:10

Yes begonia and risk someone stealing both...

Fillyjonk75 · 21/02/2013 17:10

If you are more than one in the party, one or more of you queues while the rest sit down. If you are on your own, you have to take your chances and queue up, but it's also quite easy to perch on the end of someone else's table. If it's too busy you go elsewhere.

BegoniaBampot · 21/02/2013 17:11

Allthingspretty - I commend you for sticking to your principles and taking e moral high ground as I sit enjoying my lunch while you stand with your family balancing your food on a tray as it gets cold, might even give you a wave.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 21/02/2013 17:11

Infancy - share. It's much easier for a person on their own to squeeze into a free seat on someone else's table that a family of four trying to join another party.

Sirzy · 21/02/2013 17:12

Funny, I would probably give up my seat for a child on a bus if it was too big to sit on mum's knee or their were several children, funny old world. Me to. I have a bad knee but unless it was really bad then I can still probably balance better/safer than a young child could so would rather they sat safely.

Fillyjonk75 · 21/02/2013 17:12

It's much safer to have the kids sit down than risk someone tripping over them carrying their tray.

BegoniaBampot · 21/02/2013 17:13

Stealing your old coat and a few plastic bags, what kind of establishment do you frequent, yikes! I used to dump my baby in his pram by a table - no one ever stole him.
