to think that KitKat could have thought up some more interesting flavours?

Their new campaign has us choosing between coconut, mint, hazelnut or choc fudge. Mint - yum but been done to death (seriously, just start selling them all year!), coconut - more interesting but not for me ta, too synthetic. But choc fudge and hazelnut? Too samey. Why bother? Totally not worth the hype.

Some flavours I'd like to see :
Turkish delight
Strawberry
Creme egg kit Kat mash up!
White choc and raspberry
Dark choc ginger

What would your custom KitKat flavour be?

Just the original for me.

Tried an orange one & it was really disappointing.

Mint-yuk!

9 more months Floaty?
I didn't realise they were just Christmassy ones.
Now I have to wait even longer!

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 21/02/2013 14:25

have only ever seen them in spar

love the coconut ones and mmm to the peanut butter ones. did not like the choc fudge one. i found tgat very bitter. cant stand mint but i like the hazelnut one too. tried a cookies and cream one last week end... yummy... not chunky though

would love to see cookie dough, doughnut, caramel (the runny kind), pecan, and maple flavours

SIL lives in Japan. They bought us a box of cheese Kit-Kats a couple of years back...and they were predictably vile.

They've also given us green tea and blueberry cheesecake flavours and they were both heavenly. The chocolate on the green tea ones is pale green so I presume white choc is used.

FryOneFatManic · 21/02/2013 14:54

They did this before, though. Last time I remember the options wer an orange one, a peanut butter flavour, and I can't remember the others, although one might have been white chocolate.

My mum really liked the orange flavoured one, but really it was an unfair thing anyway as most places only stocked the peanut butter flavoured one, which is the one now on sale, the other flavours having vanished.

exexpat · 21/02/2013 15:03

The Japanese variety of flavours has got a bit out of hand. Green tea, melon, pineapple, black sugar, cinnamon, hotcake, cherry blossom etc - all fine. Wasabi, miso etc - not quite so delicious in my experience.

BartletForTeamGB · 21/02/2013 15:05

Oooh, dark chocolate ginger sounds lovely!

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 21/02/2013 16:39

They used to do a caramac one that was beautiful, just in the biscuit version I think, not sure if it was kitkat chunky. I thought they had brought those back once and eagerly bought a pack, but it was caramel. I was very disappointed.

Well you know retail, Xmas stuff on the shelves in Sept so maybe after summer you'll be in luck sooner

LayMizzRarb · 21/02/2013 18:46

I have tasted Baked Potato flavour KitKat. Honestly, google it! Strangely pleasant. I was convinced I would hate it.

LayMizzRarb · 21/02/2013 18:50

look up the different flavours on ebay. Very Pricey, but for an indulgent experience... yum yum

bedmonster · 21/02/2013 19:47

Can someone just answer me, where does the flavour come from? Like, with the potato/melon/wasabi? Aren't kitkats just wafer and chocolate layers with chocolate covering it? How does the flavour sneak in? Blush

Lafaminute · 21/02/2013 19:52

Their peanut butter was yum. I'd like to see a strawberry one too, a wine one, cheese and onion maybe???

LayMizzRarb · 21/02/2013 20:06

Well the chocolate was potatoey flavoured, but in a good way. Thanks to whoever started this thread, now browsing on ebay (search using the available worldwide option on the left hand side of the ebay page. Well, I rarely drink and a bar sent from japan is the price of a glass of wine. Why not ? (Grin)

TomArchersSausage · 21/02/2013 20:15

Peanut butter was LOVELY. Have they stopped making it?Sad I only treat myself once in a while to a chunky KK. Doh..now I want one!Hmm

TomArchersSausage · 21/02/2013 20:17

Maybe Marmite KK? Salty chocolate is a good combo.

Have they done a plain choc one?

catsmother · 21/02/2013 20:44

I tried a coconut one and it gave me the most terrible acid Confused - it wasn't even nice IMO.

DeweyDecibelle · 21/02/2013 21:02

Wow, LOVE the sound of a Bakewell tart flavour, and had no idea about the potato and wine flavours! Seems they are more than capable of thinking up wonderfully creative flavours, how come we get such boring ones?

LayMizzRarb · 21/02/2013 22:11

There is a mania for kit kat bars in Japan and South East Asia, and the brand probably has three times the market share in the choc bar market than it has here.
I tried Marmite chocolate when they launched it here a couple of years ago. Didn't like it, and I like weird sweet savoury combinations. (I like marmite and honey on the same slice of toast)

ChewinTheFat · 21/02/2013 22:19

Tesco had the peanut butter ones in tonight. I bought one and ate it in the car before going in the house Blush

Southwest · 21/02/2013 22:36

Cookies and cream kit Kat!!!!!

Remember the joy when you used to get a solid chocolate one?

exexpat · 21/02/2013 23:48

The Japan centre in London sells a selection of Japanese kitkats - crazy prices, though...

onyx72 · 21/02/2013 23:55

The coconut, choc fudge and mint ones are £1 for 3 @ Poundworld.

Darkesteyes · 22/02/2013 01:35

I loved the white chunky Kit Kat that came out last year. Our local Superdrug were still selling those until recently.

Last week i tried the Hazlenut one. My verdict .......Yuk UGH.
